The Cubs pulled it off, trading their four best relievers in advance of the deadline. That would seem to leave Rowan Wick as the top option for saves in a rather empty pen. Givens, who has a 2.66 ERA in 40 2/3 innings, will help set up for the Mets.

According to FanSided's Robert Murray, the Braves have acquired closer Raisel Iglesias from the Angels.​

Reds acquired C Austin Romine from the Cardinals for cash considerations.​

Romine was designated for assignment by St. Louis on Monday to clear the way for Yadier Molina's return from the injured list.

Blue Jays acquired RHP Mitchell White and INF Alex De Jesus from the Dodgers for RHP Nick Frasso and LHP Moises Brito.​

The Dodgers simply don't have a spot for White in the major-league rotation at this point, but he'll likely get an opportunity to slot into the back-end of the Blue Jays' rotation mix over the final two months of the season. The 27-year-old righty has posted a strong 3.68 Era, 1.22 WHIP and 96/36 K/BB ratio across 102 2/3 innings (14 appearances, seven starts) over the last two seasons in the majors.

Mariners acquired LHP Matthew Boyd and C Curt Casali from the Giants for RHP Michael Stryffeler and C Andy Thomas.​

Boyd has been out for the entire season due to a flexor strain in his left elbow. There's a slight possibility that he's able to make it back for the Mariners later this season as they look to snap a two-decade postseason drought.

Mariners acquired C Curt Casali and LHP Matthew Boyd from the Giants for RHP Michael Stryffeler and C Andy Thomas.​

The deal is now official. Joey Bart's recent strong performance was likely the catalyst in this deal for the Giants as Casali will bolster the Mariners' catching depth behind starter Cal Raleigh over the final two months of the regular season. The 33-year-old backup catcher has hit .231/.325/.370 with four homers and 14 RBI in 126 plate appearances this season

Yankees acquired OF Harrison Bader from the Cardinals for LHP Jordan Montgomery.​

It's a straight one-for-one swap that fits needs on both sides, presuming that Bader can make a successful recovery from his recent diagnosis of plantar fasciitis. He is among the very best defensive center fielders in the sport when healthy and still might carry some offensive upside at age 28. At last check, Bader was about a week away from getting out of a walking boot. He could feasibly debut in New York by late August.

Jordan Montgomery has been traded to the Cardinals for Harrison Bader, per Ken Rosenthal and Lindsey Adler of The Athletic.​

It's a trade that works well for both parties, with the Yankees needing better outfield defense and the Cardinals on a steady pre-deadline hunt for reliable starting pitchers. More to come.

Cardinals acquired LHP Jordan Montgomery from the Yankees for OF Harrison Bader.​

Montgomery feels like a natural fit in St. Louis, a much more pitcher-friendly home environment with a better defense than what he was dealing with in the Bronx. The 29-year-old southpaw holds a solid 3.69 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, and 97/23 K/BB ratio in 114 2/3 innings (21 starts) this season, and he can probably be even better down the stretch.

MLB.com's Mark Feinsand reports that the Royals are trading Whit Merrifield.​

He is headed to the Blue Jays in exchange for Samad Taylor and Max Castillo. More to come.

Hopefully the Jays talked him into getting vaccinated before making the deal. Unless they are just going to use him in away games.....
