he has also played 20 more game than Jordan, probably 30 by the time he breaks his scoring "record"

He also was playing in playoff games at the age when MJ was in college. MJ had 4 experienced college years, that definitely helps you prepare for the NBA more than straight from high school. The fact Lebron had his first great season at 19/20 says a lot, it also will say a lot about about his longevity if he plays till he is in his late 30's

yah...it cracks me up when people want to hold LeBron being a prodigy against him. Its not LeBron's fault MJ went to college for (i thought it was 3 seasons), its not LeBron's fault MJ quit basketball for a while.

Yeah only 3 seasons, that's what I meant. Coming into the league from high school instead of 3-4 years of college is a HUGE difference. It's crazy it only took him one year until he was playing at a very high level

What cracks me up is how you are incapable of responding to things that were actually posted. No one held anything against Lebron, let alone, him being a prodigy.

It's a simple mathematical fact that it has taken Lebron more games to get to this point than it took MJ. The more correct defense of Lebron is what @tlance pointed out about them being different types of players.

Or do you think math is just a Lebron hater too?

Also when Jordan played the first round was best of 5. It is obviously best of 7 now and been this way since LBJ entered the league.

Okay...

No one's saying it's his "fault".

However, not to take it into account is just blatantly ignoring some facts.

It's not lebrons fault jordone was getting swept in the first round

Lebron has played more playoff games in less seasons

So, I guess you join Wiggy in thinking that math is just a Lebron hater.

Nothing changes the fact that it has taken Lebron more games to get to this number of points than it took MJ and that when Lebron does pass him in playoff points it will have taken more games to do it.

You were handed the best argument possible in defending Lebron on this (Lebron being more of a facilitator than MJ) and you aren't even smart enough to use it. :tsk:

Here is some math for you

Jordone played in 13 postseasons, LeBron's about to start his 12th.

Maybe Jordone shouldn't have got swept multiple times in the 1st round...that is how you lose records

Career FGA in the Playoffs.

Jordan - 4497
LeBron - 4112

Looks like LeQualityOverQuantity is on pace to score more points on less shots.

Awesome. Something for him to think about with his 3-4 record

He passed kobe with that 3-4 record

Magic had him ranked 4th all time in 2011...

He will pass others no matter how hard u cry

Maybe Lebron shouldn't have a losing record in the finals. That's how you don't get to be GOAT.

So you would be in favor of putting an asterisk next to his scoring record?

That's amazing, he could get this year. Further cements his legacy as a top 5-10 player of all time.
He already is in the top 10 in my opinion.

So 3-4 is better than 5-2 is it now?

Perhaps you should pay more attention is school.

True, but this record isn't about average. It's total playoff points, which requires not only scoring high in individual games, but getting to the playoffs a lot and winning in the playoffs so that you get more games.

Having more games in less playoff years is part of what makes this impressive

One could also argue lebron had a weaker east to compete in
