I do not have a problem with Napoli catching a ton of games and Young being almost exclusively a DH. Now, there will be injuries to deal with during the season, that is inevitable. Good to have quality options.

Im sure we'll see Napoli behind the plate much more this season as we should. But he needs to be given a break regularly. Especially during the ridiculously hot Texas summer.

Man, we sure like to trade with BWI.

they want him as a back-up to weiters.

The Orioles are sending right-hander Randy Henry and a player to be named to the Rangers, according to Connolly (on Twitter). The 21-year-old has a 3.33 ERA with 8.3 K/9 and 1.7 BB/9 in 75 2/3 minor league innings since the Orioles selected him in the fourth round of the 2009 draft. He has yet to reach Double-A.

i would expect Napoli to start at C at least 120 games with Torrealba getting the other 42

Thats too many with as hot as it gets in Texas in my opinion. Remember how Napoli was so good in the post season this year? I think it has to do with the fact that he wasn't absolutely running on fumes. I would say 100-110 games.

okay, so Torrealba would play 52-62 games as we just traded Teagarden to Baltimore and i don't know who we have down in the minors now

There's no need to have a new thread for every day of the week. I just merged the threads and am going to sticky this thread so that it's always at the top of our board.

Teagarden is absolutely no loss.

Fact that TEX got anything for him is surprising. For Jarrod Saltalamacchia TEX got Chris McGuiness, Roman Mendez, and Michael Thomas from BOS ... and was offered Mike Lowell for Max Ramirez. Teagardens' high value point was during the winter of 2008 ... since then he has been a dead spot on the 40 man.

Baltimore seems to be JD's dumping ground. Of course, we aren't getting much in return, but it's nice to know that they are there and willing to take a chance on our cast offs. I wonder if Buck is a MY fan?

It is time to see Feliz as the SP he was touted to be. If he makes the rotation he'll still be only 24 and would be two years younger than Holland and three years younger than Harrison.

Feliz had a good season as closer in 2011 ... but in my opinion was more dominating in his ROY season. This past season he never "seemed" to dominate in back to back outings ... and "seemed" to lack command of his setup pitches ... which coupled with too frequently not being able to spot his FB (that had minimal movement) leading to too many inopportune hits and failed outings.

Is total lockdown control by Feliz more than what we should have expected? Certainly, a 23yo closer hasn't had the chance to work on his secondary stuff enough to be confident in it and is left with only speed as a weapon when his FB control is off.

He needs to be worked out and stretched as a starter and kept in that role even if it means he has to spend a few months at Round Rock putting in innings and working on his full repertoir until he's ready for a full share rotation spot.

In my opinion.

Anyone know if he's playing in any winter leagues right now?

Here's the thing. I'm going to be nervous as hell if he's in the big league rotation coming out of spring training. The best thing would probably be to have him start in AA till June or so, but Texas will have to sign another starter if they do that more than likely. Throwing him out there in April would really make me nervous.
