I won't even sweat the $$ for Lane because clearly this FO is deliberate about this stuff. Even if the per year amount ends up being more than we think Lane is "worth", there is some value to be placed on continuity in the secondary especially when you consider how difficult it is to come into this system from another team and play up. We can probably plug a variety of lower cost FAs into SAM and be just fine. Probably not at CB.

I just came across this article that says it was 4 years/$23 million with $11 million guaranteed. This is according to Ian Rapaport.

Reported terms of Jeremy Lane's extension with the Seahawks

Considering the crazy money being thrown around I guess it's not too bad. I liked Clayton projection of 4 million much better. However if, repeat if, he stays healthy and starts across from Sherman all year then it becomes a deal. One thing I'm sure of, this will work out better then the Cary Williams signing.

A lot of overspending on CBs again this year.

OK, so what about Kam.
Is he still part of the LOB next season?

I like keeping Lane. Great move.

Yes Kam will be back and I think we'll see the old Kam, the All-Pro Kam back. He played average last year and that alone isn't enough to move the FO to restructure his contract. So if Kam thinks he deserves a raise then he'll be in camp and in shape ready to go for the season.
