At this point, it's less about making the playoffs than about developing the young guys and hoping a project like Upshaw or a possible reclamation like Hibbert can be a contributor to future playoff teams.

Even if the Lakers had landed Aldridge, they were probably looking at a 6 seed at best in the playoffs, which is largely why he turned them down.

I think even with LA they were a 8, maybe a 7 seed.....and that's IF Kobe was healthy for at least 60-65 games.

I just told you - that it takes time. She has empowered Jim to run his plan and if he fails, then she has promised to remove him and put some one else in charge. The Lakers have done a good job thanks to Jeannie and Jim in getting some top draft picks. It's now just a matter of time

He's a troll, not to be taken seriously.

Yeah I saw this. Lakers better not be giving up a lot. Roy is garbage. Lakers are taking on all 15.5 mill.

There's a threshold that has to be met and they were striking out in their bid for other players. The $ isn't that big of a deal seeing how much revenue Kobe brings in. And he'll probably bring in more than ever this being his final season.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if the Lakers raise ticket prices.

If Hibbert can't develop under Kareem....there is no hope for him.

Hibbert is going to become a fan favorite. He will be adored and fans will buy his jersey. Once he actually starts playing for the Lakers, they will hate him. All jokes aside, he might be a decent pickup for the Lakers. He wont ever live up to his contract though.

Not many players ever do, especially from this free agent summer.

Tristan Thompson is going to be paid waaaaaaaaaaaay to much to come of the bench.

Well no because he is over-priced. For 15 million a year he should be delivering 15 ppg and 10 rebounds. He is worth about 7 to 9 million a year though and would be worth picking up for that next year. The upside is that this Lakers coaching staff will demand a solid defense from him and will attempt to develop those skills in him

Aside from being hot looking what has she done that is any better than what her brother has accomplished.

You're trolling. No way anyone could ask that with a straight face.

Take off your homer glasses and my posts would make sense to you.
Well not really because the owners of the Lakers, namely Jeannie Buss and Jim Buss are there to stay and are not going to sell the team, so I really have no choice but to wait and see what they do, but I think they will figure it out eventually. It just takes time

Okay I'm fine with your answer. I was just asking a few questions.

Jeannie Buss is hot but is she any better on personnel decisions than her brother?

Jeannie runs the business side of the organization and excels at it. She readily admits that she doesn't know much about the basketball/personnel side of things.

I wasn't expecting miracles overnight and I have always thought it would take a minimum of 4 to 5 years, but If the Warriors and Clippers can rebuild given the past history, then so can the Lakers who still have an edge. It just takes time which is what I have been saying for the last year.

It's either a future 2nd round pick or some past second round pick that they have stashed in Europe. It's an expiring contract, so it's up to him to play well enough to earn another contract.
thats not bad then. What the hell is Pacers thinking then.

getting top draft picks is "doing a good job" ? Doesn't that mean you're losing more than most other teams?
