:lol:That pathetic goof LIVES wrong. And don't worry, if the Lakers DO go to the playoffs he'll have some dull-witted, half-baked excuse about how his all-knowing sage opinion was off...

Is it just me, or does it seem that he hasn't been on the boards as much since he was banned from the Lakers team board?

Not that he's missed!!

I read that this morning too regarding the Thunder players. Durant isn't a free agent until the summer of 2016 and then Westbrook the following summer. That's a bit far down the road.

If that would happen though, what other ex-UCLA players could the Lakers sign to fill out the roster? Would TF12 still root for the Lakers if they were all ex-UCLA players? :laugh3:

I hold it against them a little less once they're out ta there personally...

I did notice as a matter of fact, though he decided that today would be a good day to pollute the general board...

He said us thinking this team had ANY shot at making the playoffs was a joke. After all, ALL the experts AND Vegas are on his side...

TF12. Apparently Mr Turnup has lost his angst now that his primary function of trolling CL67 has been removed. Sort of like when you remove a plastic nipple from a baby's mouth they usually fall asleep.

Season HASN'T EVEN STARTED and they got Pau on the trading block for a "younger PG". That makes me sick....as many of you have said, he doesn't deserve this. Atleast wait til the new year to bring him up in trade talks. I personally think the Rondo thing is just people trying to connect dots with the Lakers wanting a "younger PG" and nothing more....but Pau's name will continue to be brought up. As for Durant, he is not going to Houston imo. The new CBA is a KILLER, and him and Harden(who I THINK will be a FA in 2016), would have to take MUCH more less to play together in Houston(way more less than Lebron took)

Why wouldn't they extend Harden? Durant doesn't like the spot light at all he wont come to LA, you should be trying to trade for DeRozan right now next best thing as Kobes replacement.

Hardens contract goes up in 2017.

Kold, I think the Pau talk is alot of BS because we have two platoons and a 10-deep rotation. Pau works really well with Kaman and Jordon goes quite well with anybody even Sacre is playing great and Pau is an integral part of the new chemistry this team has manifested. We don't need another point guard especially with the play of Farmar and Blake. It would be stupid to move anybody at this point once they get down to 15. If you are going to dump somebody, move Nash.

Well, if Brown has matured like Farmar, he'd would be welcome but who do we move to fit him in. That means somebody in the backcourt must go. Nash would be the likely candidate but that is not going to happen. Sasha Vucacic wants back in with the Lakers as well but there is no room. Brown and Vucacic just may have to wait.

I'm with you there, Retro. The guy was always good enough athletically, but it'd be hard for me to justify moving anyone and taking a chance on screwing up the team chemistry they've already established. Agree that if it was ANYBODY it'd be Steve Nash. Guess we'll see how THAT works out...

Yeah, my whole point was that Houston couldn't take on Durant's contract with Harden and Dwight on the same team. Oh and I forgot about that ridiculous contract that they signed Lin to as well. As for Derozan, I'd have to pass on that one. He's talented, but I don't see him being a franchise player.

Me either, though I do believe DeRozen would be a nice price to add...

I think Lin is a free agent by the time Durant would be able to go to Houston.

I believe Lin's contract was for only 3 years. However, that third year is the poison pill paying him something like $15 million. I think Asik's was similar. Houston will find itself in some salary cap hell after this season.

:agree: Lin's salary next year is a joke for a PG from Harvard :L

I dont expect Houston to be int the run for a big Free Agent next season

If I'm correct about these poison pill contracts, next summer the Rockets will already have over $65 million committed to four players (Howard, Harden, Lin, & Asik).

Here's a trade idea for the Lakers and Bulls that may seem a little crazy at first glance, but could help both teams. The Bulls in the short run and the Lakers in the long.

Since Pau is the Lakers most tradeable asset (which pisses me off because Pau is my favorite Laker), how about Pau for Joakim Noah?

Pros:

Bulls: It gives them the post presence that they lack on offense. Pau can score from right under the basket all the way to the 3 point line. The Bulls have no one else on their roster who can do this as consistently as Pau. He is also an excellent passer and can hit guys for open jumpers and on cuts to the hoop.

Lakers: They get an "energy guy" who doesn't need the ball, plays great defense and while he is nowhere near Pau offensively, he's probably no worse than Howard was and he'll play the pick and roll!! He is also young and would be a great piece to have in place for the re-build. I'm sure that very few upcoming free agents would have issues playing with Noah.

Cons:

Bulls: Pau is a downgrade defensively. However, the Bulls play good enough defense that they should be able to cover up this weakness enough that the upgrade on offense more than makes up for the loss on defense. Pau is also "old" so this would clearly be a "win now" move on their part.

Lakers: Noah is a downgrade offensively, but scoring shouldn't be much of an issue with this roster and D'Antoni's system. Noah may score a little more in D'Antoni's system because he will run the floor. Also, just as Pau would make up for his defensive deficiencies on the offensive end, Noah would make up for his offensive liabilities on the defensive end.

Not sure where the Bulls are cap wise, but Pau's contract expires at the end of the year, so they could re-sign him for less for a couple of more seasons at a lower salary.

Okay, pick it apart!!
