Heard a Lakers rumor/speculation today that I thought was interesting and wanted to bring it to the Lakers boards. Then I thought: there will be lots and lots of rumors/speculation around our Lakers for the foreseeable future, so why not start a thread?

So to all Lakers fans, feel free to bring any and all Lakers rumors/speculation here and post it. If possible, name your source, even if you're the source.

Yesterday actually on the Laker forum Mark Willard & Fat boy Arash Markazi where talking about the Lakers possibly trading Gasol later in the season for Rondo. This way Lakers can attract a top player in 2014 but for now it's just a rumor.

Fred Roggin was filling in for Petros and Money today and he said that Jalen Rose had mentioned on some show that when Kevin Durant becomes a free agent, he will likely go to Houston to play with Dwight Howard.

This would then free up Russell Westbrook to come to the Lakers and be paired with Kevin Love.

I really wish they'd stop shopping him. I realize that he's our most tradeable player, but it's getting ridiculous that he's constantly being rumored for trades.

I agree and at times I think everyone forgets how valuable Pau is to our team. He is a big that has a good jumper and can drive to the hole and is a willing passer. I dont want Pau traded.

Good to see you Louie26. I see you finally made it here. Yep, we have some young athletes and everyone is hitting their free throws. It is great to watch.

Agreed, and it seems to get in the guy's head. Guess we'll see what happens, though...

I read that this morning too regarding the Thunder players. Durant isn't a free agent until the summer of 2016 and then Westbrook the following summer. That's a bit far down the road.

If that would happen though, what other ex-UCLA players could the Lakers sign to fill out the roster? Would TF12 still root for the Lakers if they were all ex-UCLA players? :laugh3:

I just read this morning that there is a gentlemen's agreement, more or less, between Kobe and Jim Buss. The agreement being that the Lakers will renounce their rights to Kobe this summer and then resign him basing his salary on what's left after signing other free agents. By renouncing his rights, Kobe's cap hold is removed. They'll do the same for Pau.

I seriously believe that the Lakers are going to sign the majority of the players they now have on the roster-many of the one-year contracts. Guys like Xavier Henry, Wesley Johnson, Jordan Farmar, Shawne Williams, Robert Sacre, and maybe even Meeks and Kaman especially after they see the year I think this team is going to have.

I think guys like Nash will be done this year and the Lakers will add a couple of younger FAs like Kevin Love. I also think high priced guys like Anthony, who is a bad team player, will not be signed for the aforementioned reasons. They won't have to sign a guy like that because they will have a whole roster of team players and they will have learned their lesson of selfish players with the Howard debacle.

Absolutely!! I never hold a pro players college against them. It's not their fault they weren't good enough to be Trojans!! :becky:

:lol:That pathetic goof LIVES wrong. And don't worry, if the Lakers DO go to the playoffs he'll have some dull-witted, half-baked excuse about how his all-knowing sage opinion was off...

Not sure how that works, but it sounds like a good thing!!
