Irving and AD will be a pretty tough team to beat...Especially if Durant leaves
They wouldn't want to any way. Lately they have preferred 3 to 4 years at the most.Lakers cant offer him 5 years
If they traded Ingram and Ball, yes they would. The net difference would have been only 8, more, But it makes more sense to wait and trade after they have signed the second max player which they won't get. They most likely have to settle for slightly lesscommon sense brah
if they dont trade for him- and try and sign him- then the contracts that are going out- like Ball, ingram, kuzma, etc. wont be going out
there is no way in hell they can sign a a max free agent htis offseason and still have cap room to sign davis the following year.
Not really.
Davis would have to leave an unprecedented amount of money on the table to get traded to Boston and then walk to another team in free agency.
$50M more in guaranteed money does a lot of convincing all by itself.
Tatum, Jalen Brown and two 1st from Memphis and Sacremento and possibly the Clippers first.
The Lakers on the other hand have a tremendous amount of internal healing to do. LeBron's comments and demands to ownership to give up anyone and everyone to get Davis pissed off his 'team mates', if you want to be so brave as to call them that. Several have said that they want nothing more to do with an old man in his waning days. This is the kind of thing that takes a massive efort to overcome.
As far as the lakers trade offers go.........If the Pelicans trade Davis to the Lakers, their first round picks go from the mid to late teens to the mid to late twenties and possibly in the 30s. Those picks are totally useless if you're trying to rebuild a team. That and the pelicans are going to fire the GM so they ain't leettin' him do anything.
Actually the Lakers made an offer and New Orleans refused to even acknowledge itReport: Lakers pull out of Anthony Davis trade negotiations
Poor ESPN. What will they do now that their boy Lebron James won't have someone t carry him to the finals.
Yes. Johnson looked like a begging fool offering half his team for a guy who has never brought his team past the first round in the playoffs.Actually the Lakers made an offer and New Orleans refused to even acknowledge it

are hte Lakers really going to punt on using their cap room another off season?
Agreed. He looked like a tool in both instances. He was in way over his head when up against experienced executives who actually understand how the business side of the NBA works. His actions in both cases were incredibly amateurish and reflect badly on the Lakers franchise.Magic got criticized for not offering enough for Paul George and Kawhi and now he’s being criticized for offering too much.
Doesn’t make sense.
