Mozgov USED to put up decent numbers. There was a time when the Lakers paid for PRODUCTION, not "used to"
That's part of the problem here. There were plenty of other options. Mozgov is terrible defensively, especially looking at the offensive teams in the West. Signing him wasn't a huge issue......signing him damn near a minute into FA to THAT contract is the issue.
Deng was a good signing. Solid player. But there's no realistic way to defend the Mozgov move. Just terrible.
The Lakers have about two more bad years under 50 wins. Then they should be able to turn it around.as long as they keep that young core together and practice some patience they will eventually get through it.
