Celtics/Lakers Best of Enemies is a five star documentary featuring the competition for the NBA championship between the two greatest franchises in NBA history. I lived through it and made sure to watch all these exciting games in the 1980s whether it was at home or in the crowded bars at the shore in New Jersey.

I liked the historical reviews of the Boston and LA franchises leading to the arrivals of Bird and Magic. Narration was excellent. The story of the games was set up and paced just right, highlighting the essential moments, especially the player interactions, and the taunting from both sides as they clearly showed how much they "hated" each other. Most of all, the comments from former Celtics and Lakers players and coaches were intelligent and humorous, and allowed you to get inside the games and feel the intensity of the rivalries all over again.

Here's to one of the more under appreciated guys in this deal, Cornbread Maxwell. Dude could really really play.

I'm trying to picture whoever the best white player in the league currently is telling Lebron, or KD or whoever what he was getting ready to do and that there was nothing they could do about it. And then most importantly actually doing it instead of just having it be stupid trash talk like these guys now days. Larry Bird was some kind of special.

He routinely gets pushed down in modern rankings of the top players, but he was clearly near the top all-time.

Unfortunately, another player that gets that treatment (and was largely ignored in the 30 for 30) is Elgin Baylor.

Larry Bird would still be winning 3 point competitions, you can book that. Yeah I know, Steph, Bird would have something for him from time to time.

Klay's a better 3 pt shooter than Bird too.

Career 3 pt %: Curry 43.8%, Thompson 41.9%, Bird 37.6%

And those 2 shoot a MUCH higher volume.
