nba is just like the nfl, just any given day not any given sunday.

It's like Shaq, Kenny, and Barkley were saying last night, you can't just assume a win even if a team is missing a couple of it's best players. Those other guys are still NBA players which means they're good players.

I just got off the phone with Kristaps...

He told me the Celtics tanked the game last night as a goof... hoping to keep Darvin Ham as the LAL coach as long as possible.

:behindsofa:

lol

Full disclosure...I was thinking they'd lose until there were about 2 minutes left in the game. Kept thinking the Celtics would start taking the game seriously and that would be it.

so true....and unlike not great players who have roles and a ton of money in the bank they are often guys fighting for playing time and future contracts.

They gave up a decent second for Springer
Springer has some talent... they gotta develop him, though, and he has to shoot better from distance.

You guys got a good one. This week alone he more than held his own as the primary cover of Luka and Curry. He needs confidence at the offensive end. He’s still only like 21. His shot has improved. In a better franchise for development than the Sixers he could blossom. No guarantees but I think the Celtics got a good one today.

You’re assuming the Celtics can develop him…

Yeah... even if it's a decent 2nd rounder we gave up, Springer has enough upside to justify it.

I've seen him play and noticed the potential.

I'm surprised y'all gave up Pat Bev... I'd take him over Cam Payne any day.

You guys know better than I do but from afar I feel like guys who have been with the Celtics have become better catch and shoot guys over time. That’s what Springer is. He has some ability to handle the ball but he’s not a combo guard. He has a hard time playmaking. He should be a 6’4’’ 3 and D wing. The Sixers wasted his G League year having him play hero ball against dog shit instead of using the time to develop him into a real NBA fit.

I don’t want to botch up your thread with Sixers shit but they essentially picked up a bucket for the Embiid absence and Pat Bev became expendable when the decision was made to grab Lowry in the buy out market. So it’s pretty much they chose Lowry over Bev. Personally, I pick Bev over Lowry too right now because of his defense and his intangibles. But that’s a little better than picking Cam over Bev.

Hard to have a guy who can be dominant in the g league not do that

Even the guys who do that end up being that way in the g league

Few guys don’t dominate the g league and be gold nba players

But yes it shows developing guys isn’t easy

Yeah... I totally agree with your opinion.

Lowry is just too long in the tooth.

Not a huge difference, and the health of Embiid overshadows all... but give me Bev out of those 3.
