Just an FYI before fans gets all pumped up with Parsons, he's a restricted FA so Houston can still match any offer. IMO, they'll most certainly match any offer for him unless they sign Melo, James, or Bosh. So it's unlikely we get him. But...if Houston does get one of those guys and let's him go, LA would probably be his first choice. If you've read anything about Parson off the court, he's a model, loves clubs, etc etc. What better place than LA for that kind of lifestyle?

I don't know KOLD. I think there are just stating what they want as I suspect that once the Lakers meet with Carmelo on Thursday and then come back after the holiday break, that they'll begin signing players and I think Hill will be one of them that signs for that term.

Couple more names generating buzz on Twitter as LA targets: Chris Bosh and Isaiah Thomas (restricted free agent)

Hopefully so,because I'd like to see Hill back as a backup big, depending on the money

I would love it if the Lakers signed Bosh. I was hoping the Lakers would get him back in 2010 when he went to Miami. He has been taking a lot of Heat in Miami (see what I did there?), but he has willingly taken a lesser role there. I think that on a team like the Lakers, where he would be used differently, he would be back to the 20+/10+ guy that he was in Toronto.

Definitely an intriguing plan b option, I think he stays in Miami though

Me too. I don't think any of the big 3 from Miami go anywhere and I'm starting to have doubts that 'Melo goes anywhere.

The only thing that I think that could break up Miami's big 3 is that it's being reported that "sources" say Lebron wants a max deal. The Heat might have to let one of them walk if they want to keep Lebron.

For over 6 mil a year, they can most certainly have Jodie. I wouldn't have minded getting him back, but that's too much

Yea, we are going to see players start signing elsewhere because they can and the Lakers are perceived to be dragging their feet a bit waiting on the big name FAs. I think Melo and Lebron are going to re-sign with their respective teams and when that happens, Pau Gasol will sign with the Knicks. Carmelo's wife is already clamoring for him to re-sign with the Knicks. She isn't too excited about going anywhere else.

We will then sign Monroe and Hill and probably Ariza and either Chandler Frye or Parsons. Then several of last year's players will re-sign. People like Farmar, Xavier, Kelly, Wesley Johnson, Marshall, and Swaggy even though he's been whining a bit. Our roster will then be just about complete.

That's too much for him, I know he had a good season last year, but that's the only real solid season his had. My guess is, this is a sign that the Lakers will try and re sign Young, wich I believe is a must IMO.

If they strike out on the two big names, I think it's going to be another team with a lot of one year deals. They'll want to have a lot of that cap space available for the big names next summer.

Good for Jodie. Way too much and too long of a contract for the Lakers.

Yeah...that Meeks deal. Take him.

Some positives going forward in the future, its been reported that Jeannie will participate in some meetings with FAs, including Melo. She didn't get involved at all last year with Dwight. Whether Melo signs or not, its just a positive that Jeannie is getting more involved in the basketball operations

Here is the latest on Gasol. Apparently he is chatting with Pat Riley.

Y! SPORTS

Just don't see him resigning with us. He'll want a ton of dough, won't want to play for a non contenter, and frankly as much as I'd like to keep him, I'd rather ride out the year with a couple core guys and a lot of 1 year deals. THEN, let the flood gates open. :suds:

Jordon Hill is talking with three teams. One of the teams rumored is the Heat! Trevor Ariza has been talking with the Lakers and the Heat.
