Adding a starting RT doesn't mean we are changing 80% of the oline. There will be two new starters Lenvo and RT. That's it.

McGlynn at center. And I have seen many posters advocate replacing every one on the line save for Williams now. That sir would be 80% of the line. And you yourself have stated many times you want both Polumbus and Chester gone. So yes you have been advocating for 80% overhaul on the O-line.

And Sorry Skinsdad, you dont drop two rookies next to a new center and expect to keep your QB healthy. IM fine if Moses is really the guy. But I think based on group panic mode there is an over valuation of the position in general going on in Redskins land.

I thought litch is at center. McGlynn is a backup. It looks like Chester is staying. I just wanted an upgrade at RT. I think Moses, Kojo, Bitanio, and Richardson can be very nice upgrades. I would be shocked if a olineman is not drafted in rounds 2 or 3.

Lets see if you are right Shark. No doubt Robinson is there at 34, lets see if the Skins pull the trigger. I doubt it but we will see b/c this scenario is definitely happening on draft day.

OH I dont expect the Skins to draft him at 34, just saying I would. I fully expect the Skins to draft one of these OT's every one has been drooling for. Now maybe Bruce wont succumb to the mass panic that has generally gripped the Redskins world as far as the RT position goes. But to be honest I doubt they take anything other than an O-lineman at 34, and likely take an O-line in the 3rd round as well.

here is more

they went 8-8 and played for the title last game last season

they were 5th in passing yds with 2 qbs and had 2 1000yd wrs

they were 16th in rushing yds however forte averaged 4.6 yds per carry

so i dont want to here it cant be done

certainly by year 2 our o/line could be very good

Skinsdad... grab any scenario and you CAN point out an instance where it has worked. But realistically how often does a team change out an entire side of their line for rookies and NOT struggle. IM not saying it cant be done, I am saying that more than likely doing it is not very prudent in most cases. Hell Seattle just won a super bowl with an under sized 2nd year QB. Does that mean all the rage should now be drafting 5'10" QBs in the third round??

Agreed, but you can not really believe that installing a new center (McGlynn) Then sticking a rookie RG and a Rookie RT out there is actually going to fix what actually ailed this line. Its a knee jerk reaction. We have already replaced the LG and Center. O-lines develop through playing together. And even if you say we need better talent, its a scorched earth policy to replace 80% of a line that has produced two top ten ground games, and a top ten offense over all within the last two seasons.

Actually, I do suggest a rookie at both positions can improve the OL, depending on who the rookies are.

Do I see Moses as an upgrade to Polumbus on day one? Yes I do.

Do I see a Yankey or Filo as an upgrade to Chester on day? Yes I do.

I would actually have the rookie G play next to Williams and the rookie T play next to Lauvao.

By Wilson winning the Super Bowl it has upped the value on small QB's like J. Manziel. But everyone knows that Seattle is known for defense and running game. IMO I wouldn't touch Manziel with a ten foot poll. I think all these QB's in the draft are way over rated.

Shark if it worked for the Bears it can work for us. It looks like Kojo will be the pick at 34.

Dean.. it could just as likely fail. I realize and have accepted the Skins likely will go O-line with the 34th pick. Not what I personally would do. But then again more often than not the Skins end up going in another direction and three years down the road we are still debating what needs fixed on this team. So to a degree Im used to it.

Well who said that if we drafted an OT at #34 (or the 3rd round for that matter) that he necessarily needs to be starting on the right side come early September. See how he develops over the offseason and preseason, does he develop some continuity with the other guys?? I mean, I thought we were trying to add talent and build for today AND the future. If our first pick RT doesn't start Day 1 or even in year 1, it's not the end if the world. As long as he is progressing, getting quality (in game) reps, and is a starter early in his career (year 2 or 3 at the latest) it will be fine. We don't have a 5 ft tall 100 pounder playing RT right now or anything...

lol. im used to the Skins going in a different direction when it comes to the draft. Amerson over Swearinger comes to mind. lol. I don't know why everyone is still talking about Moses he will be gone. You know the team wants to upgrade RT b/c we looked into Penn.

The best move would be to trade down and still get a Rt and a extra 3rd or 4th.

ask and you shall receive

our own 1981 redskins started 3 rookies jacoby grimm melvin jones had a 1 yr player in bositic and the aging george stark

in year 2 mark may replaced starke .

that gave us 4 2nd year guys and one 3rd year guy who played a total of 8 games together and we won the supebowl

the 1981 skins were 10th in points scored and 9th in yards

so there is an int=stance where it worked but the BEARS worked last season . they were playing for a division title in their last game

who knows what can happen in year 2 ?

geez shark you come out and say "no way can we protect a guy with 2 rookies " i prove you flat wrong with the facts and it isnt enough . and hell it was last year when it was done

i said by year 2 it could . the bears beat my schedule

and lets talk about "panic mode " lets look at what we have done this season . we signed 2 interior o/lineman , we signed 2 starting wrs , we signed 3 ilbs , and one FS .

2 needs left would be an RT and another safety and a RG . and you could go tall redzone threat via TE or wr

2 of the 3 needs are RT and RG . how is drafting them if value is there some kind of "panic " move

its addressing a need not panicking. just as looking for a tall red zone threat isnt "panicking " for that need

Skinsdad... I have never said if value is there dont draft them. I have said I think value will be skewed because of perceived need. If you cant see that I dont know what to say. The more you think you need something, the more likely you are to over evaluate. But in fact as we have replaced two of the five o-lineman, and people are still screaming for more, I do tend to think its a bit knee jerk panic mode.
