Black Adam
Cowards WILL BE cowards..
wow, ANOTHER by Turnip...
BINGO!! that move's CLEARLY not even necessary...
oh wait, it's because Turnip thinks EVERYTHING is Kobe's fault. LOL i don't know who was worse back on CBS with that crapola. him, or that equally psychotic clown heatmyshorts...
At what point of the year did I say the Lakers wouldn't make the playoffs?
Then, tell us what my pre season predictions were..
I was SPOT ON.
Lets rehash.
I said Clippers would win division, pre season. You called Lakers, even after 10-15 games or so.
I said Lakers would NEVER crack the top 4 once they got off to a slow start.
They never did.
I said, for the longest of times, they were fighting for 6-8. CORRECT?
It wasn't until they put themselves farther back then we ever imagined that I said no playoffs.
Hey, Kobe literally killed himself to secure that playoff spot on the last day of the season.
Was it worth it?
and all this side bullshit you're bringing up matters WHY? LMFAO you said it! that'd be the point. and you were WRONG. wow, just take it like a man for once and move on...
go talk about your fake-ass Heat or something today...
Right about the time you made an avi bet with me that they wouldn't.
Why would they amnesty Kobe when he'll be playing this season and is a big money draw for ownership? The Lakers will still have plenty of cap space next season.
You are clueless hence the CL in your name
no i'm not, I'M "spot-on"...
You have NO CLUE how the salary cap works ,salary cap holds, etc.. do you?
LOL already pointed out that there's no need to amnesty Kobe, so you're going to try to save face, AS USUAL...
For God sakes, it took you months to learn how to make a v-chip wager.
LOL that's all you've got? guess you're right, how pathetic. maybe i should've gotten myself kicked off a sports board or something...
Face it, i'm just a fucking MORON.
I was wrong only because your team sucked so bad I changed my mind.
My original thoughts were CORRECT.
ANOTHER tapdance happening. you were WRONG. sheesh...
just like the Mike Brown thing...
You were wrong since day 1 about 2 teams now for over 3 years.
Then, are you familiar with salary cap hold $$$ working against your next years cap?
If not, study it.
This is where turnip crosses the line from simple hate, into pure, unadulterated stupidity!! To amnesty Kobe in the final year of his contract would be a stupid thing to do and would ultimately have provided very little, if any, true cap relief. Kobe's contract was not the sole reason that the Lakers were so far over the cap.
The better bet is/was, to do exactly what the Lakers are doing. Keep him for the final year of the contract and collect the money that having on the team attracts. Then let his contract expire at the end of this season (along with just about every other contract) and then decide what to do with all of that money in the off-season.
Dallas won the title in 2011. CLEARLY i wasn't. nice try though...
SURE. Like you picked fucking Dallas at the start of the year.
Matter of fact, you picked the Lakers to knock Dallas out that season.

ALSO said the Heat would fail. and they DID. LMAO tell us again about your great view of game 7 from your "courtside seat", knucklehead...

The view is great. The game sucked. Also, it was game 6.
As far as failing, you guys said the Heat would lose in round 2, season 1. THAT was the real prediction.
Then it just turned into HOPE.
So please, stop with that BULLSHIT.
It doesn't take a real genius to pick/hope against a team losing every night or every series, does it?
You picked the fucking Bucks to beat the Heat last year.

LOL i just bet it was:rollseyes:, and i KNOW the series only went 6. but your idiotic prediction of there WILL be a game 7 is where ya blew it, charlie...
see? wrong AGAIN...

doesn't seem to work for YOU. lol BULLSHIT is what you live by...
point was, as always, they FAILED. i know, i know, it makes you BLEED to know your god FAILED, but it DID happen...
It doesn't take a real genius to pick/hope against a team losing every night or every series, does it?
does it? you say never put a whole lot of stock in predictions, then try to wear someone out with 'em if they're wrong. talk about a friggin' butt-munch HYPOCRITE...
You picked the fucking Bucks to beat the Heat last year.
refer to my last line. at some point i guess you'll get over yourself. it'll PROBABLY be at about the same time you're on your deathbed, though...
i have to confess something here(for the folks with SANE minds, obviously). it takes a very special talent to be the King of thread clowns AND the court jester at the same time. i'm kind of in awe of the little scrub this morning...
So, exactly. Cap holds are theoretical. Fact is, the Lakers can have a ton of cap space in the summer of 2014. I don't think that's when they sign the big FAs anyway. Lebron is not coming. Unfortunately I think we'll have to wait until the summer of 2015.

True, but who knows how much Kobe will settle for?

Cross this line:
Who knows what Kobe will decide to play for, but if he was off the books this year it wouldn't matter.
Would it?
It doesn't matter what Kobe will decide to play for. His contract is up after this season. It wouldn't have mattered if the Lakers amnestied him or not. All of these contracts were set to expire at the same time for a reason. The reason was because the Lakers knew that they would be looking at a re-build.
As Kupchak said in a recent interview: the Lakers have known for approximately 3 years that this was coming and there is a plan in place.
If Kobe wants more than the Lakers are willing to pay, he won't be re-signed. At least this year, they get the benefit of the ticket/merchandise sales that having him brings in.
Fair enough, but my assumption is that the Lakers were determined to keep him there for his entire career, almost regardless of salary, because of the income he does generate.
And as far as this year ticket sales, etc... The games/tickets for this season were already sold out, correct?
So him playing or not playing really doesn't change anything as far as that goes.
