yeah, they'll TRY to upgrade RG and if so, Snyder returns to the back-up role. in this situation where would Rachal fit? gone right?

if we can keep a back up C/LG/RG, we'll do this instead of Rachal as just a back up Center. so if we're going to try out OG's at C, i'd think Snyder, Kilgore, and MAYBE even Person would get the first shots?
we may even draft an OG/C in 2012?
anyways, not against the idea just don't see a good chance?
How do you know? He's never been tried at C. Let's not make Rachal out to be a moron. He just gets beat a lot by pass rushers. The guy who's going to face the least amount of good pass rushers one on one on the entire OL is the C.
In the Running game, however, the C is usually going to take on a big ole' NT against a 3-4 almost every play. Nobody knows that Rachal would be a "disaster" at C. If that's true Rachal should be out of the league because he's not a very good RG. But he's not going to be out of the league. I say re-sign him, and when training camp starts let him compete for the C jorb.
If the Niners draft an OL I really hope it's a LT. That isn't a knock on Staley; it's just that a LT can usually play both positions better than a pure RT, and there's the chance a youngster could come along and steal Staley's job with his play...
If the Niners draft another interior lineman then that's different. But if they don't there should definitely be a roster spot for Rachal. He's at least better than Person and Kilgore at this point; otherwise he Rachal wouldn't be the first off the bench at RG.
Backup C.
Jacob's second wife....duh...
