Sorry, deleted it to get more info to post exact numbers, but since you asked:

Jimmy Graham will be paid $2.9 million in salary (which Seattle pays) while creating $9 million in dead money for New Orleans.

Max Unger will be paid $4.5 million in salary (which NO pays) while creating $2.2 million in dead money.

At this point, Seattle is $500,000 ahead hit (Unger's dead money, plus Graham's salary, minus Ungers cap number; $5.6 million)

Throw in Seattle's 1st rounder ($1.3 million) and change it to NO's 4th rounder ($550,000) and the total change to the Seahawks cap goes from $6.9 million (Unger + 1st rounder) to $5.65 million.

You didn't include Graham's roster bonus.

I got to it just after posting, and posted on my next response (my internet was acting up so only had info for his contract from an article, and didn't have anything else). So, instead of going down, it goes up a little over $3 million.

Which is about what New Orleans' goes up as well, and since they are already over the cap, it'll be interesting to see them try to get under it.

Not only big deal being discussed - Rams looking to trade Sam Bradford to Eagles for Nick Foles.

4ths are usually when the best C in the class fall into. Maybe they have their eye on one?

Maybe they'll take a shot at Hroniss Granu from Oregon

There's also a Ngata to Detroit deal being reported. This day has been more eventful than expected in the trade department.

On a side note, Malcolm Smith is now a Raider.

I just saw that. Wouldn't be surprised to see one or more linebackers among our draftees/undrafted free agents now.

You have to give up something to get something. I like it though. Brees is short as well and Graham obviously put up big numbers with him. This is the target Wilson needs over the middle.

Wouldn't be the first time public statements about opponents that turn into nothing but love when becoming teammates....

Wilson just got a huge red zone target! This should help the offense big time. Not only does he catch TD's he changes the opposing teams defensive game plan and should take some pressure off the WR group.

Be interesting to see how they work the cap moving forward

Good grief ... I guess Michael Bennett has a one on one conversation planned for the future... WOW... That's a nice weapon for Wilson ... Zack was a nice target and Wilson works good with TE's .... Jimmy is a step up from Zack for sure...

WOW OH WOW, did not see this coming and THANK YOU JAX, one for picking a punter before Wilson and now taking TE Julius Thomas, forcing Seattle to take this new approach, However my fear of the o-line going into off-season has now only grow as Carp is now a JET and Max is gone. So dose anyone have a good guess of what the line looks like right now? And is there any hope of improving it or are we screwed?

Also I was right, Seattle did trade there first round, just didn't think we'd get Graham.

As a receiver, yes. Jimmy is a better receiver than Zach. If he's coming in to be the #1 receiver, then that's great, but if people think he's coming in to replace all of what Zach did then the offense is in trouble.

This looks look a pretty good move by the Seahawks. The Cardinals biggest weakness has been covering tight ends. Wilson is good at improvising and avoiding a rush, he'll have to be just that with a weaker OL now. Still it looks like a move made to take advantage of the Cards weakness on defense.

I agree with Flyer -- game changer for the O. I've always thought Graham was a bit soft, but he no longer has to face the toughest D around (outside of practice). We struggled a lot in the rz this year, and those days appear to be over. Graham will of course be used split out and not as an inline TE, just like he's been doing in NO. Luke W better brush up on his blocking this Summer.

Overall, I'm puzzled by the trade but mostly like it because it finally gives us a premier target in the passing game that we haven't had in the RW era.

So now the question..... what # does he wear? I'm going with 88.

Decent value on the trade, upgrades the offense, gives RW that #1 target we desperately need. Can't be too upset about the move, even if we will be pulling our hair out at times when he punks out instead of going for the extra yard.

I tell you what...I like this trade a hell of a lot more than I like the Williams signing.
