I agree. Last two years he's had serious injuries.Ungers an all pro...when healthy......which has been few and far between....
OK, I'll bite. How's that?Surprisingly enough, Seattle's cap number for this season goes down with this move.
Love picking up JG, but holy shit. Losing the best member of a shaky Oline? Better not be done with the moves on offense. Carp leaving and now unger sent to the south.
How is that possible?
Sorry, deleted it to get more info to post exact numbers, but since you asked:
Jimmy Graham will be paid $2.9 million in salary (which Seattle pays) while creating $9 million in dead money for New Orleans.
Max Unger will be paid $4.5 million in salary (which NO pays) while creating $2.2 million in dead money.
At this point, Seattle is $500,000 ahead hit (Unger's dead money, plus Graham's salary, minus Ungers cap number; $5.6 million)
Throw in Seattle's 1st rounder ($1.3 million) and change it to NO's 4th rounder ($550,000) and the total change to the Seahawks cap goes from $6.9 million (Unger + 1st rounder) to $5.65 million.
my first reaction as well, but Unger is always injured and Bailey played pretty good at center with Unger out last season.
With Unger's $4.5M cap hit heading to the Saints, net add for Jimmy Graham in 2015 is $3.5M against the cap (I believe)
