Jerry Rice...Indirectly

So after the Giants loss I posted some pictures a girl I have on and off dated sent me to be an asshole because she got to go to the game and watch from the sidelines. She is a Packers fan and I was pissed she wanted to rub it in my face.

Well, she is working an event with Jerry Rice right now. Growing up, Jerry Rice was everything to me. I studied film and ran like him, caught like him, made cuts like him. Aside from my father, well...tied with my father, he was my hero. So I am thinking she is gonna be an asshole about this too, and she sends me a picture she took with him. But this time she was cool and told me that she was talking to him about me and how I was his biggest fan and all that stuff. So I sent her a text to tell him I said thanks for all the memories and he read it!! Not that this is front page news, but it's still pretty cool. For me at least. Just thought I would share that with you guys.

There is nothing un-cool about that Tall. Once a hero, always a hero and no matter how small the moment may be when you get the chance to meet, it is everything to you at the moment and certainly share worthy! You should save the text for your Grandkids - for they will certainly know the G.O.A.T!

Whew, the intro had me for a second. I thought you were going to say you had a change of heart regarding your perception of Jerry b/c he violated you or something (indirectly) by screwing your ex or something. Glad to see that that wasn't the case.

I saw Jerry Rice at a club in SF. He was walking around with a couple security people, and girls were constantly surrounding him. I wanted to go up to him and tell him he was my favorite player growing up, but there was no chance I could approach him.

About an hour later, I'm heading back from the bar and see him walking by himself back into one of the main rooms. He looks at me, and apparently notices I'm star struck. He walks up to me and sticks out his hand and he did the bro handshake hug thing. All I could muster up was "You're the greatest of all time!". He said "Thanks man, appreciate it" and proceeded to get surrounded by more girls. Epic night.

I am from Oklahoma but have loved the Niners since the mid 80s. In around 1991 my uncle was doing some computer work for a footlocker in San Francisco and Jerry Rice came in the store. My uncle told him about me and Jerry Rice actually agreed to talk to me on the phone. Unfortunately we weren't home so I didn't get to talk to him. Instead I ended up with an amazing autographed picture that is framed and hanging up in my 3 year old nephews bedroom(couldn't bring it to China with me). It is my pride and joy as it is signed to me.

Related, but off topic.... when I was 18 I lived in NY and was doing a some modeling work. (Not trying to boast or anything because I hated it and it is pretty lame anyway) My agents knew I was in love with Adriana Lima. They used to joke about it all the time. So my good buddy and roommate ends up booking a job with her and I guess he kept talking about me and she asked him to call me so she could talk to me. I was working and didn't pick up. I never knew. So I go back to the agency and they are all giving me this look because he told them the story and they didn't know I didn't pick up. They finally told me what had happened, and I asked why she didn't leave a message and he said because they wanted to surprise me and didn't want me to hear her on the voicemail. Then she told him that next time we were all back in town we should hang out. That never happened because he ended up not coming back to NY and she was probably just trying to be nice..... but still. Just the act of her dialing my number made me the envy of all my friends.

dang, no stories for me on ANY of my 49er heroes??!! Montana, Lott, Rice, B.Y., etc etc.

the closest i came was in Vegas at the Paris Hotel. had just run out of luck at the crap tables and started to leave, apparently Jerry Rice just walked into the casino and my friends saw him. they only had chips in their hands but asked him to sign anyway, he did.

of course i didn't believe until i FULLY inspected the chip. i'll never use the chip and good thing its only $25.

anyways, what i wanted to get at is........Jerry Rice is apparently very good with fans.
