How are the revenues split for that game?
So you are saying that it's impossible for Florida to keep their rival game with FSU and still schedule "a home and home" OOC game like say with Oregon, USC or U-Dub? How can other teams schedule OOC games, but Florida can't. For example, Washington has a home and home against Michigan (2020-2021), Ohio State (2024-2025) and Michigan State (2028-2031)For UF to schedule "just like everybody else" UF would drop fsu and schedule a home and home vs 1 other various other P5 team on a rotating basis every year.
UF cannot keep their game against fsu and still schedule a game out of state - at least not if UF hopes to keep to its budget. So why should UF lose money it would otherwise make with the standard 7th home game in order to play an OOC game out of state?

Its very charitable for UF to take such a financial loss with the WLOCP given the struggles they have in meeting their budget.
Hopefully they are able to dig themselves out of this mess so they can afford a 9 game conference schedule without going to the poorhouse.

So then they aren’t losing any money from playing this game vs doing a home and away. It’s a push and shouldn’t be considered a negative like you are trying to make it out to be.evenly

Yes but years when it is a “road game” you get paid for 4.5 home games vs 3.5 when it’s a “home game”. It’s a non factor.I didn't say its a negative. I said its not a home game.
Thanks a lot.SportsHoopla meet DR. DR meet SportsHoopla.
Google could be wrong, but I pulled this off of Google. They haven’t played an FCS team since the split but they have played teams that are currently FCS or lower.
They want 8 home games. 9 if the SEC office would just cooperate with 'em.If they wanted to they could have 1 game be a low level FBS or FCS team so they are now up to 6-7 home games.
Like I said, since their was a delineation between FCS and FBS they haven’t, but they absolutely have played teams that are currently playing FCS or lower.Google could be wrong, but I pulled this off of Google.
"USC, Notre Dame and UCLA are the only remaining FBS teams to have "NEVER" scheduled an FCS team. And they have done so with pride".

Okay fair enough, but 1918 was a little before my time.Like I said, since their was a delineation between FCS and FBS they haven’t, but they absolutely have played teams that are currently playing FCS or lower.

You need to start cutting sports programs if your school is that broke where you have to have 7+ home games every year to break even.7 home games. Dunno why you can't seem to understand that
