This team is god awful - no goaltending, no defense and even their forwards are deteriorating - it's an all-around bad team

Everyone except John Tavares, Kyle Okposo, Travis Hamonic and possibly Frans Nielsen should be on the block

They should even look to move Thomas Vanek

I expect the Sabres to get the Isles 1st & 2nd round picks in 2015. Garth better trade Vanek before the deadline because the chances he resigns are about zero. If he does Garth will likely get a 1st round pick & a prospect. I know he'll get more than what the Flames got for Iggy. The Isles will be better next year. Ryan Strome is having a terrific season in the AHL especially considering he's almost a 1 man team at forward for Bridgeport. Griffen Reinhart will likely be on the team next year & Ryan Pulock has a chance to make it as well. There are a lot of good UFA goalies available this coming offseason. Hiller, Miller, Halak, Elliott, Lundqvist to name a few.

The fact that Capuano is still the head coach bothers me more than anything. The team is a mess & the way he has them playing makes it even worse. When Sidney Crosby says we know we're going to get a lot of odd man rushes when we play the Islanders due to the style they play it's a bad sign.

Many Isles fans had very high expectations for this team. I on the other hand felt they would finish 12th in the conference. Bringing Nabby back was a brutal mistake. I argued with some of my fellow fans about bringing in Mike Smith or Bernier. The Isles simply didn't matchup with the Kings. Garth apparently offered Niederreiter & Lombardi probably took one look at his cap hit & said no thanks. They didn't have a top 10 pick so I guess Schneider wasn't going to happen. I don't think last year was a fluke. This years defense is the worst I can remember & the goaltending is awful.

I feel real bad for you, Bolts. Pretty knowledgeable hockey fan cursed with a team that ain't that hot and hasn't been in a while. Hopefully they pick it up in the near future and reward guys like you for the loyalty. Or tank so badly that they pick up the pieces to put it together.

I honestly don't think anything will change until Wang is gone. Nobody knows when that will happen. Flyers fans are very lucky to have an owner like Snider. The GM of the Flyers might make mistakes, but the owner certainly gives his GM whatever he needs to be successful.

I think us Flyers fans and starting to question who is behind the mistakes this team has made the past 10 years. I for one feel like it's 50/50 management and Snider but i may be alone in that aspect. That said I love Snider to death for always trying to win and being such a big contributor to youth prganizations and various charities that have become staples of Philadelphia.

I give you major props for sticking with them and realizing what they could be and not having unreal expectations for them, like most of these new fans.

Think adding a better goalie like one you mentioned would have been a nice start. I still think they gave up on Nino way too soon, but I do like Clutterbuck a lot and from what I've seen, he hasn't looked bad.

It wasn't about giving up on Nino. Nino & his agent weren't happy about spending last year in Bridgeport. It was great for his confidence & the right thing for him, but his agent should have kept his mouth shut. Of course the agent was only saying what the player wanted him to say. Nino's days were numbered. I didn't like the trade one big. I've never been a Clutterbuck fan.

Said it when the trade went through....The Isles way ioverpaid for Vanek. Only salvage now is what they can get for him in trade and it's hard to imagine it will be more than what they already gave up.

The Islanders didn't overpay. Regier got a lot more from Minny for Pominville at the deadline last year. We'll see what Garth Asshole does. He better get something similar to the Pominville trade or there's going to be serious backlash from fans, not that there isn't already of course. I could see the Ducks as a possible trading partner. They're loaded in goal. A position the Isles are in need. They also have a ton of young forwards. There's no question they're going for it this year. Vanek looked like he was going through the motions last night. Just waiting for the word from Garth that he's been traded again. Arthur Staple wrote today that he feels the Isles should consider a New rebuild. We'll see what blows from Snow.

I don't really see a "rebuild" as an option. Hard to rebuild something that was never built in the first place. There hasn't been a true core to the Isles (this is debatable) since their glory days. They have a lot of young players and prospects. They have a franchise center (on a great contract). They have a top 4 defender in Hamonic.

They really only have 2 marketable UFAs that they can convert into assets (Vanek and MacDonald). Even if they were to move these guys I'm not sure they were ever core guys. This team is what it is. They need to just stay the course and build their prospect pool.

There's a lot of talk today on twitter & elsewhere calling for Laviolette to replace Capuano. We'll see if it happens. I won't believe it until it does. To be honest Wang needs to clean house. The isles still don't have a Team President. It's an utter mess & it all starts with Wang. The Isles have plenty of trade pieces. Thomas Vanek, Andrew MacDonald, Kyle Okposo, Frans Nielsen & JOHN TAVARES. Katie Strang actually said a few days ago she wouldn't be surprised it JT asked out. I would be shocked because JT is a class act, but I really wouldn't blame him. It's that big of a MESS.
