Honestly, it should be unanimous and any voter that screws with that should be drummed out of the business and sentenced to some purgatory at the south pole or something. A couple things jump out every time this conversation comes up. Russell Wilson does not belong in any MVP conversation whatsoever, despite the fact that I love the kid on my favorite team. Also, people need to quit bringing up Nick Foles every time. What this kid has done is great but just stop already. There is more to this than just some random stats. The only names that even remotely should be brought up as distant runner-ups are Jamaal Charles and Shady McCoy. Yes, McCoy, not Foles from the Eagles.

I love Wilson despite the jabs I take at Seahawk fans, but he shouldn't be in the running. Foles only has 40 more attempts and 400 more yards than Rodgers who has missed more than 1/2 of the season. Foles has been incredible, but he hasn't played enough. I can see a case for the two running backs with over 2000 total yards already, just not against a quarterback who set the TD record in 15 weeks, will probably break the passing yards record, and his offense will probably break the record for most points in a season.

Yeah, cwood, that was my point. Those two running backs are distant runner-ups but they are the only two players in football right now who's name should even be mentioned in this. People need to stop with the Foles and the Wilson and anybody else at QB for that matter. FWIW, I'm a big fan of Aaron Rodgers too but missing close to half a season and the team struggling doesn't equate to being an MVP of anything. That isn't a shot at you, just a general observation with an unbiased eye.

You might have misunderstood, I quoted you because I agreed with you. Foles and Rodgers are in kind of the same situation except they missed opposite half of the seasons. Both teams were crappy without them, both played great and made huge differences, but neither played enough... although I'd easily give Foles the 1/2 season MVP over Rodgers. I can see a case for either running back but not with the season Peyton is having.

Whoever votes for anyone but Peyton for MVP this season is simply a jackass & doesn't deserve a vote.

I'm pretty sure his statement made perfect sense in context.

Still have no clue why he would bring Brady into this at all. This is about Manning and the MVP....yet someone needs to bring up TB and spygate? Seriously?? I swear some opposing fans think about TB more than NE fans.

The context is New England fans like to pick on Peyton for lack of postseason success when Brady only plays at about the same level as Peyton in the playoffs. Neither are postseason stars as both of their passer ratings drop about 10 points in the playoffs.

It's stupid the way people go on and on about a QB's play-off success. The play-offs is when it becomes so much more about a total team effort, and the QB, while being a very important part is still just 1 person. The QB passer rating can be deceiving, too. The receivers, the play-calling and what defenses a guy faces have so much to do with how successful a guy is. Some guys have great play-off games and still lose while some others play shitty and win.

I have seen my share of "fans" from a lot of teams say that about Peyton. So I would not say mostly.

Most fan polls vote Peyton as a better quarterback than Brady. So...

Well what would Peytons lack of post-season success have to do with this. I think this regular season Peyton is the clear favorite. Anybody that would say other players should not be considered is a moron.
Other players have clearly been valuable to their team. Why should they not be considered? I think Peyton IS the most valuable player in regular season. They should give him the award AFTER USING THEIR BRAIN! They should not give him the award without thinking BECAUSE THE MEDIA SAYS SO!
