I guess I can't fault them for taking advantage of it, but look at the league these days... it's all about scoring. It used to be a big deal when a team got hot and even got close to 100 points. These days it's not rare when both teams reach 100. Goes to show you how good Jordan was to be able to average over 30 for his career.
I guess you are blind to the fact they used to score more, the 90's could be a little exception. MJ got every call and was the biggest crybaby.
And just an example the 95-96 Bulls averaged 105.2 ppg. Yah, they were really struggling to get to 100.
