I think there's much proof that the rumor that they have. The Browns still have not said anything about it.

The headline should have stopped after the first six words.Seattle is in fact interested. As are the Panthers.
Seahawks won't bite on Baker Mayfield unless Browns eat more money
The Seahawks and the Panthers both apparently haven’t ruled out trading for Browns QB Baker Mayfield.seahawkswire.usatoday.com
Oh Seahawks fans.
Or some coffee. He obviously just really wanted to see some Mariners baseball…
Not really....there are as many reports that say the Browns will pay some of his deal if need be as there are reports they wont. Almost like reporters can just make it up and fans will eat up anything that supports their agenda. No accountability, as one side is making it up, right?I think there's much proof that the rumor that they have.
OK, I'll say it this way.Not really....there are as many reports that say the Browns will pay some of his deal if need be as there are reports they wont. Yeah they don't want him, I agree with that. However pretty obvious nobody wants to trade for him, despite the media pieces for clicks, linking him to half a dozen teams since the Watson trade. Tough spot for the Browns.OK, I'll say it this way.
1. I believe the Browns want to wash their hands of Baker.
2. I believe the Browns will have to eat a good portion of his contract.
Maybe he just likes camping holidays. He obviously just really wanted to see some Mariners baseball…
Browns have absolutely no leverage in a mayfield trade
No disagreement either of your beliefs is possible. I believe 1 is true but they wont do it if they are better off with him around (and could not get what they want in trade). 2? Thinking we'd keep him over eat a "good portion"...though that depends what you think is a good portion.OK, I'll say it this way.

"no leverage"? They have enough cap space to hold onto him and wait for a deal they like.Browns have absolutely no leverage in a mayfield trade
They may not want or need him but they also don't need to give him away for nothing? No they do not. But they sure are trying to act like they do. They don't want him, they don't need him, but damn it, they are going to get something valuable for him!
They may not want or need him but they also don't need to give him away for nothing?
There's also this thing going on with that Watson guy and maybe they believe Baker is a better option than Brissett if they need a replacement for a long period of time?
No, not saying we know this is true but it's certainly not a crazy notion. More crazy to me would be releasing him.
Why sign Brissett? Because he's much cheaper and the hope is they can trade Baker in a deal that helps the team.I guess, but that it is so obvious that they don't want to keep him around is why his trade value isn't going to be there.
If they viewed him as a better option than Brissett, why sign Brissett? I guess I can answer my own question by saying one is perfectly fine with being a backup, but the other will raise hell and be a distraction.
I wouldn't say nobody wants to trade for him but like I have said many times...they don't want to trade for him, possibly give up a pick and take his full salary. I believe the Browns were being stubborn for months now and they want the other team to take basically his full salary. It makes sense, why budge when you are in no rush to move him. Now, getting into OTA's there is a report-they are willing to cover half or more of his salary. Again, not surprised. We knew it would come to this if teams didn't bite. Maybe the Browns have to cover 60-75% of his salary but that is still better than cutting him and letting him pick a team to play for.Yeah they don't want him, I agree with that. However pretty obvious nobody wants to trade for him, despite the media pieces for clicks, linking him to half a dozen teams since the Watson trade. Tough spot for the Browns.
Your brethren wouldn't....LOLOh man I would love Baker to the Seahawks
