Romo is a Jerry guy, and Jerry will put Romo in the Ring of Honor, without question. There's a ZERO percent chance Romo pisses on Jerry and the Cowboys and signs with the Skins. Personally, I think it would be hysterical, because Romo, if healthy, would be better than any QB they've had in the last 50 years and they'd have to moonwalk on the Romo insults. Make it happen lol
Romo is going to be out for Romo if he is released. He will go where he can win a starting job and compete for a SB. IMO if he thinks that out of all his options Washington best fits that bill, he will go there. I don't expect him to end up there and I would expect him to take it into account, but I don't think he will let the rivalry thing prohibit him from going someplace.

I agree...but we both know that isn't Washington with their defense and running game.
Houston/Denver or even KC is where Romo plays next year in my not so humble opinion

Correct on Wash. My point was if his options are Cle and other crappy teams and Wash he is likely picking Wash as the best of the bunch.

I suppose it could be Chicago or Washington.
Many think he'd opt for Chicago having played college ball in the state.

I just know I'd laugh a month of Sunday's if he ended up somehow in Washington.

If Romo proves himself healthy in 2017, I don't see how he plays for anything less than $19.5m in 2018.

I just can't imagine a scenario where Romo signs a discount multi year deal at this stage of his career. There is absolutely no reason for it. Romo will have suitors, whether via trade or free agency. If traded he is under no obligation to renegotiate his current contract, and if released he is free to sign anywhere he wants for whatever terms he and his agent can negotiate. If released, I see no downside for a man in his position, with all his circumstances, signing anything more than a guaranteed 1 year deal. Romo's value is currently at it's lowest, why would he sell off years in the future at a discounted rate, when he can play for 1 year and reestablish his value? And if he gets hurt again, he's probably going to retire anyway. But if Tony plays well in 2017, his value is likely well north of $20m per year. So why would he sign a multi year deal at a discounted rate?

Speculating: If we are talking about a 1 year deal, why would a team renegotiate his current deal? Romo isn't going to play for less than $14m next year, whether via his current contract or a new one. At $14m Romo would be the 23rd highest paid QB in the league.
Fear would be he makes it through 17, secures the 19.5M then gets hurt early in the season, as for Romo not taking a paycut, he's already stated he will work his contract if it can facilitate a trade.

This right here is part of the reason why Romo's projected value is as low as it is, I believe this is already being factored in. Injuries aside, Romo with 3 years on his deal would be worth a lot, multiple high picks. But Romo is an injury concern, which is why we are talking about conditional second day picks.

Do you have a direct quote from Romo stating that he would do that? So far all I have seen is a few writers quote nameless sources "saying" Romo would take a pay cut. Maybe I missed it?

I totally disagree, but time will tell. If you look at what Philly got for Bradford last year, the Cowboys could certainly get more compensation by keeping Romo and then trading him. I think the Cowboys will release him and give him a chance to sign with Denver, Houston, KC or maybe Arizona, but Jones will have a handshake deal that Romo won't be able to sign within the division. On top of that, Romo's legacy with Cowboys fans would take a huge hit if he went to Washington. Romo makes his home in Dallas and is on record as wanting to live here long term. He'll never sign with the Skins IMO

This is nail on the head. If your goal is the Super Bowl, Washington is not your destination. Their QB threw for 5000 this year and they still sucked. They wouldn't go to the Super Bowl next year if Dan Marino at 26 were their QB

And the reason I dont see any team giging up an early pick. As for his contract it was talked about on a vegas radio station, no direct quote. He could very well sit tight, wait for his release then negotiate with teams of his choice, but I'll be very surprised if he gets an offer = to his remaining money.

It would be really nice if we found another Minnesota needing a QB, I just dont see too many teams making that offer, but yes it would increasevhis value. As for a no NFCE team agreement I dont think it would ever be approached.

You're wrong....I'd be laughing a month of Sunday's as stated.
Romo wouldn't have anymore success in Washington than he's had here

Can you imagine what he would do against our defense? Maybe you should ask Church , Jones,Carr, and the rest of the boys what him and Andy Jones did to them on a weekly basis in scout team. With that sorry ass pass rush of ours , not to mention Garçon and DJax would immediately resign. Combine that with Crowder and Reed. Draft Fournette in the first. Oh shit , can you say Air Coryell.

Cousins on Thanksgiving- 41-53- 450

You just lost the division to the team you despise the most.

I think the pressure would build on the suiters if Dallas said they were keeping Romo unless the got a legit trade offer. Think about the fans in Houston, sitting there with the number 1defense in the League AND JJ Watt coming back...and Scrub City at QB....you know their fans are rabid to get a guy like Romo. Denver can posture, but even with their great D...missed the playoffs. Then there's the coaching staffs... What if John Fox hangs another 4-5 win season, he's out of a job.

That said, I think Jerry cuts Romo so that he can chose his situation...which is why Romo in turn won't consider Washington

Why would DJax and Garcon resign when they already had a big stat QB? As to what Romo would do against Dallas, you just posted 41-53-450. Unless Romo can tackle Zeke, he's not what the Skins need to best Dallas

I would bank on one resigning and Alshon to join. With all that offense- I would say Zeke would need 40 carries , to keep Romo from putting up 40

Their QB threw for 450 last year and they lost. I would fear Romo on this team with this running game, or in Houston with that defense, but throwing it 40 times a game in Washington? Colt McCoy would get alot of PT

That is possible. I just don't want to see it or think about it. AFC is fine. If we see him in the Super Bowl , that would mean it would have been great years for both parties. I can live with that. I don't want him anywhere near a team though that could possibly keep Dallas from getting there. Honestly, that would probably only mean SF in the NFC.

Again I'm selfish - I love watching him play, but if it can't be with the Star, part of me wants him to retire.

IMO QB isn't what ails Washington. If Romo goes there so be it, I'll welcome gom back for his one day contract.
