He doesn't speak to the media because he has already proven he's not an articulate fellow. That doesn't necessarily mean he's as dumb as a rock but perception is reality. The reality is he doesn't speak in a way that leads one to believe he is in fact intelligent.

In all honestly, I really thought Lynch was the closed book type. Semi awkward in a social scene never really having much to say in general. But the announcers said yesterday that he is the center of attention in and out of the locker room. And seeing him yesterday I would say that is about right.

Lynch is an interesting character. He wears fake gold grills and has since high school, just cause he likes it. He's been arrested multiple times, DUI, weapons, hit and run. He was fined $100k for not talking to the media and ever since then has been a clown when around them en mass. He has given a few interviews since the fine and revealed the reason for him acting a fool is because his attitude can be summed up to "If you're going to treat me like a child, I'm going to act like one". He doesn't like being told to do something and being told to speak to the media is the authority which he is rebelling against.

A kid who just doesn't want to grow up but who can blame him? His job is football. He's lucky he is not in prison for some of his legal problem but again, his job is football. He is held to a different standard due to his money and legal defense.
