you are talking of needing a centerfield type Safety but ironically the best centerfield type isn't one of the two safeties you want.

I'm not so sure of that. id love a draft that nets us Ward in the second round because I agree with you that he would fill the spot nicely, but I think Dix would fill the role better. If you could guarantee me that Ward would be there in the second round I'd probably pass on Dix in the first and take someone else...but if you assured me that Crichton would be there in the second that would be my ideal pick

I want Kareem Martin in the second........ BUT

When all the draft talk started Martin was a mid 3rd round pick. When I did my mock yesterday. NFL.com shows the "experts" having him going in the bottom of the 1st. I don't think he will go in the 1st but I'd take him in the 2nd.

I cant argue with you, since I am only going off stuff I read. With Dix & Pryor it seems how good or flawed they are is determined on the writer. Sounds like some politics being played on who is the better safety, so the writing can be misleading. & it looks less & less likely we will land Ward as his stock seems to be moving up.

So I will have to concede to those of you watching the three.

Agree. Seeing him listed as acFS made me feel like I don't know this team. Church ad a FS tells me how bad the others are in pass coverage.

Of the guys that seem like they could be there at #16, my top group is Lewan, Barr, Dix and then 4 DL: Donald, Jernigan, Hageman and Ealy. I don't think Lewan will make it out of the top 10 and wouldn't be surprised to see him, go top 5. I think Barr should go in the top 10 also. I think Dix or Donald will be there, but maybe not both. I expect all of the other guys should be there. I mean, only 15 guys can go before us.

My lesser group that I would still be happy with has another 5 to 10 guys including a couple more DEs (Crichton and Lawrence), Martin, Mosley and Pryor, but I'm not totally sold on Pryor being a good fit for us.

I just can't get over how many guys I would be happy with at #16. I would love to see how the team rates them. Someone said recently that there are probably a bunch of guys the scouts have ranked similarly, but I doubt this is the case. A lot of us may have 10 plus guys we see being similar, but I'm betting the scouts have them separated by quite a huge margin in most cases.

this is the main reason I seldom complain immediately after the draft. I never claimed to know more than the staff. Last year was my first quick complaint with the drafting of a TE in the 2nd.
