I wear my Meatball Badge with honor.
Survive is the name of the game this Thursday. Survive with a dub. Lotta factors working not in our favor at the moment.
Nagy says it's not a long-term injury, and that it happened late in the game on Harrison's late hit.
Well, being his throwing arm still gives me concern, coupled with that history you speak of, of not telling all there is to tell with injuries, but Nagy seems pretty straight-forward, so let's hope he's being honest. That's good. I was having Vietnam flashbacks of Cutler's injury. Which also wasn't known until after a win - if you remember. Funny that we also won to get to a record of 7-3 in that game too...
Then OTOH, there's this from Rotoworld quoting the Trib:
The Chicago Tribune reports "plenty of signs" point toward Mitchell Trubisky (shoulder) missing Thursday's game against the Lions.
Trubisky was officially "DNP" on Tuesday. Coach Matt Nagy sounded pessimistic at his presser. Were Trubisky to sit, 10th-year pro Chase Daniel would be in line for his first start since 2014. Daniel played for Nagy in Kansas City and raked in $7 million guaranteed last offseason, so Nagy clearly has some level of confidence. It would still be an across-the-board downgrade for every Bears skill player.
You never know how to read a HC these days, being they have perfected the art of coachspeak and misdirection in their pressers. Of course it's understandable that Nagy doesn't want to tip his hand as to whether or not Trub plays. Gotta keep the Lions guessing. If it was the left shoulder, I think we'd all be chuckling and saying, "yeah right" regarding any question that he'd be starting. But it's the throwing shoulder, so it would not surprise me if he's rested for this game.Nagy didn't sound pessimistic to me, at all... He said he's cautiously optimistic that he'll be ready.
