You may be right. What I see now though is a player that is playing “scared”. He doesn’t scramble, look to run, etc. I’m not saying this isn’t natural. In fact, it is. The question is will he break out of it? If he doesn’t I don’t see how he can be effective.

Mariotta had a major leg injury last season but he is not showing any signs that it is affecting his play. In fact, he outplayed Wentz with less weapons when it counted the most.

I think that’s part of it too. The coaches know he’s “apprehensive” so they are calling plays accordingly.

I saw these same coaches rolling out Foles, sending him out for passes, etc. I don’t see any of that with Wentz.
