Apologies brother! Been a little behind the ball lately. I'll give it a proper review sometime soon. But long story short, lots of potential but silly. The creature was awesome, the acting was average, cinematography was good, the climax was ridiculous in a bad way. If you're desperate for new material then its a worthwhile watch, but don't expect to be blown away.Hello?
Do you actually think I would watch this without seeing your rating first?
Good flick. I think I'm going to give this one a shot tomorrow:
Came across this gem when rabbit-holing on youtube... I think @Taddy Mason , @Chef99 & @DJ can appreciate this one... Have any of you seen this?
Not yet... Thinkin it is a good save for a drinking night!Never even heard of this one...have you watched it?
Always Watching: A Marble Hornets Story (2015)
Disappointed with this movie, but what can you really expect from these "found footage" films anymore. They are sort of the norm for horror films with small budgets. The plot of this movie caught my attention when it was being compared to the fiction-turned-lore supernatural character Slender Man. Definitely had the look and feel of everything you would expect from that crowd-sourced urban legend, so I was on board! This movie had the potential, but sadly it ended up being a first-person filmed knockoff of Sinister where basically all they changed were the characters and the antagonist. I could have gotten past that if they would have gotten rid of all the camera glitching nonsense. That essentially ruined the suspense for me. There were a few times where they didn't do the glitching and I thought it looked a lot better. The movie isn't horrible, and the acting is pretty good. So it isn't a waste of time to watch. Just lower your expectations to the "cheap thrills" category and increase your alcohol consumption...
Hoped for more, but cheap thrills is what I got... 6/10
The Eyes of My Mother (2016)
Sweet Jesus & Holy Shit that was twisted. This movie will shake you down to your core and leave you feeling quite disturbed. So be warned if you decide to give this a go, it's not for the faint of heart as this movie is in every sense of the word, horrifying. As Vulture E-news aptly states, this movie "claws into your subconscious and lingers there." Very true statement. Brought forward by the directorial debut of Nicholas Pesce in collaboration with Tandem Pictures. The choice of black and white for the film was marvelous. It dulls the gore without lessening the impact of the violence and makes it easier to digest for the squeamish, but in no way detracts from the horror on the screen. The acting was superb, and the cinematography was outstanding. This sort of twisted horror may not be everyone's cup of tea, which it certainly isn't mine because I think it takes a pretty f'd up viewpoint to love these types of movies, but any horror fan can appreciate the cinematic beauty that this film presents. From the start you immediately get hurled into the traumatic life of a young girl and you get to watch as she transcends into madness as she grows up. I have always been a fan of the psychological elements that these movies present, however often times these movies go a little too far into the darkness. If this sort of movie sounds like your cup of tea then I'd definitely recommend it. For those that aren't, stay away from this one.
Truly haunting... 7.5/10
That trailer is pretty freaked out by itself.
I fear for the cow.
