Last season we were supposed to have Darvish Holland Perez Harrison leading the way. Those 4 never appeared in the rotation at the same time. The reasons why have absolutely zero to do with Jon Daniels. He did his part.
really? He ignored the bull pen and assumed all those guys had arrived as quality ML starters. Each has shown signs but hardly sure things. I see questions with each going forward, which best explains this Hamels deal for me.

Ok, if the point you're making to me is that Jon Daniels was just "assuming" that Yu Darvish, Derek Holland, Martin Perez AND Matt Harrison had just simply "shown signs" of being quality MLB starters, going into 2014 (before all 4 had injury setbacks), then I'm going to politely excuse myself from continuing a conversation any further.

He expected to have Holland and Darvish in the rotation. That's a huge difference. If they'd been healthy he would've only needed Martinez, Tepesch, Perez or chi chi to fill the 5 spot. That's pretty damn good.

Now the bullpen is a different story. He blew that big time. Hopefully he learned from it.

Jayson Stark:
The details of the Hamels' trade underscores: PHI had far less leverage than expected, and were greatly boxed in by his no-trade provision.
Really interesting detail from @jaysonst: Rangers effectively responsible for only $40 million in landing Cole Hamels for the next 3 years

Since the Phillies took Harrison's contract, and sent us the 9 1/2 mil, this really makes the transaction much easier for me to think, "we did just fine."

For some reason, the site wasn't allowing me to log on, so I created another account. But after waiting an hour or so, I went in, and reset my old one.

Life is back to semi-normal.

I heard some very discouraging numbers on Hamels vs the AL this morning. Know what I'm referring too?

I'm beginning to think Gallardo is staying put.

I'm beginning to think Gallardo is staying put.

There could be a couple of situations in the works with him.

(1) He/us have expressed a desire for a longer term relationship, and we're thinking on it.
(2) No one has offered us enough to make it worth the pick at the end of the season we'll get if we don't work something out.
(3) Mgmt may be thinking more, "shorter term" - meaning 2015 - for improvement than I certainly believe.
(4) We still may move him.

Its such a click-bait article too.... if that's the kind of article/writing they are going to spit out... I'm open to a career change. I can throw everything at the wall and see which shit sticks just about as well as these guys can.

Also, this...

Any combination of Norris, Pentecost, Guerrero Jr., and Urena would be fine by me and all are right handed hitters or switch hitters, minus the pitcher

Jays may be done after the Price acquisition

They still need starting pitching IMO

Price, Buehrle, Dickey, Hutchison & Estrada/Sanchez isn't going to cut it if they fancy themselves real contenders

Without those two bomb outs to the Indians and Angels, Colby Lewis is 11-2, ERA 3.13, WHIP 1.05 in all the other games.

Think he could be moved for a decent prospect and have him re-sign back with the team in the spring?

It's been discussed but he wouldn't bring much back anyway
