I think of the trade proposals that I have seen lately. This one from Newberg is one I like the best.

Texas acquires RHP Kyle Hendricks, RHP Adbert Alzolay and RHP Mark Leiter Jr. from the Cubs for LHP Brock Burke, OF-1B Dustin Harris, RHP Winston Santos and SS Maximo Acosta

We get a good starter and 2 relievers who have been successful this year. I actually mentioned these relievers myself recently when mentioning trading for Stroman.

You sure about that...? I know how you have always felt about NL pitching coming over to the AL. Will the success carry over

I think the NL not having a DH was a big reason why NL pitchers tended to do worse when they crossed over. I am not very concerned with that any longer.

Speas was touched up tonight for Round Rock. It will be interesting to see if he adjusts quickly to the higher level.

4. Walker Jenkins, OF — South Brunswick

Outside of an unforeseen player being available at this pick, all of the smoke for the better part of two months has been how enamored the Rangers are with Jenkins. He’s an 80-grade human being, and could be one of the rare high school bats that moves quickly through a system.

Rangers’ brass really like Teel, and he’s certainly an option with this pick and could represent a slight under-slot deal with the idea of spending heavy with their next pick in the fourth round (exactly what they did in 2022 with Kumar Rocker and Brock Porter.) But he’s unlikely to provide the type of savings necessary to really make a splash in a later round.

The team also likes Clark, but it seems as though the majority of decision-makers in Texas prefer “Walker, Texas Ranger.”

Worst loss of the season for Texas...and there is not a close second.

Rangers have one playoff caliber SP: Eovaldi. One playoff caliber RP: Chapman. And an offense that is really good, but not sustainable over a 6 month season.

April and May were fools gold. 10-15 since deGrom news. Headed for 85-77 season. No playoffs.
