There's more to contributing than at-bats. Leody and Bubba are providing defensive value. Bubba isn't being treated like an everyday player, and he's also hitting better than Leody, FWIW. And the offense as a whole is putting up great numbers, so those two aren't really holding the team back.

And again, Huff is not setting the world on fire at AAA. There's no need or benefit to bringing him up at the moment. It wouldn't help the Rangers or him.

If defense is their contributions, Jank and Grossman can be also. Leody can go back down and give Huff a chance to do better at the plate and that would not be hard to do. If he does not, nothing lost.
I am not atguing the point. Just can not justify two BA of 200/204 in the line up. Give someone else a chance.

So my take on Leody Bubba Huff and even Josh Smith.

All are role players with Huff in my mind the best shot as an everyday starter. But why bring him up to site behind Heim with Garver maybe on the way. The OFs are placeholders until Carter comes up.
So we will need a 4th OF. I think Bubba has more use defensively and on the base path

Not sure how it will play out with Janks
Josh Smith likely is the most versatile player on the tram defensively but he looks overwhelmed offensively almost snakebit

But I doubt it plays out this way. I think Bubba will be sent down once Carter comes up

Plus where is Huff going to play to get his at bats? He would be on the pine for much of the time. We don't care if Leon sits. And Huff wouldn't be brought up to replace Smith, Bubba or Leody. Different positions.

Where is the debate? I haven't seen it on here today as of when you mentioned this. His name was brought up and how he has done lately was brought up, like I have done about several of our minor leaguers. His future was also discussed, again like several of our other minor leaguers.

I noticed that Newberg still won't admit Perez's hot start last year was a fluke. It has been about 11 months since I fist engaged him about Perez and he still won't admit Perez is ace-like in his results.
