yes, when you want to deny the rights of people entirely due to their sexuality, that does in fact define you as a homophobe.
and I would say that to his face, and to yours. no hiding going on on this end.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if Timmay's post disappears soon though.... again.

Not 100% true, to be a homophobe he would have to fear or hate gays. I dont know that it is established that either is the case. It is possible that while neither hating or fearing he believes their lifestyles are inconsistent with his personal view of marriage.

Or he could hate them in which case he is

That's a very simplistic definition and does not capture what the word entails. You don't just take "arachnophobia" and replace spiders with gays.

If homophobia simply meant "fear or hatred of gays" then don't you think another word would have sprung up to define all the other types of discrimination or prejudices against gays? There isn't though... just the word homophobia. It includes the whole spectrum.

Or should we just call people "anti-gay"? Maybe a whole spectrum of terms so people can clearly self-label their level of "disagreement" with homosexuality? Anti-faggists. Keep-it-out-of-my-face-ists. Lesbians-but-not-two-dudes-ists.

Maybe racists can do the same thing? "Look, I'm not afraid of (insert race), I don't hate (insert race), I just don't think they should be allowed the same rights as my race." Should we differentiate between true raceophobes and just regular racists?

The fear (or hatred) is what makes it a phobia from a physch perspective. It's what makes anything a phobia.

In fact someone like Cathy ( a "true believer" who believes he is doing whats right) can be more harmful than a simple homophobe.

You must not be married because yes, well, no I'm not dead, but marriage sucks the soul right out of you... kidding...

Why do gay folks want to get divorced anyways? smiley face

This is my go to expression on the issue of gay marriage... Straight people have been making themselves miserable with marriage for 1000s of years, time to give gay people their turn! ;)

Actually I'm thinking we enforce mandatory gay marriage for all gays. It will cut down on all that disgusting gay sex.

Well to throw another angle on it.

The Catholic church has said that Gay relationships will result in a eternity in Hell....Well basically anyways.

My question is the 10 commandments cover a a lot including murder. As a catholic you can have your sins resolved by a priest in confession and find your way to the pearly gates.

So if the Lord will forgive you for murder that same god will not forgive you for being homosexual?

I dunno seems outta wack to me.

That is a good article... Still does not give people the right to completely bash and try and bring down a company because of its beliefs. If you're someone who feels strongly about the subject then just don't eat there. Towns/Cities should not be pushing businesses away because the owner of the company is religious and supports what he believes in.

So you're actually in favor of free speech...

I kind of agree with this. "You can't put a restaurant here because your beliefs aren't the same as my beliefs." So American.

Yep. Something that appears to be fading along with our freedoms. Gotta love socialism... But hey, fuck it, Obama is doing a grand job.

yeah this is all that needs to be done. however when that said company allegedly puts money towards stopping gay marriage that is another case so if they stop doing that and leave them ALONE as they are NOT leaving them alone they are just working in the background to push their own beliefs onto the gay community by not allowing them or trying to not allow them to marry whom they choose. thats the problem I have with groups that try to stop the act. I also have problems with gay groups shoving it down societies throats (um so to speak) as I would have the same problem with any issue being shoved in my face whether I like it or not. dont force me Ill choose thanks.

I haven't seen anyone say this, so I'll just put it out there. What is clearly lost in all of this is the most important social issue of all... Why are so many people eating fast food and arguing about which other fast food place they are going to eat at? EAT QUALITY FOOD AT HOME PEOPLE!

/end rant

I'm sick of these damn big government liberals telling me how to live my life. If I want to marry a dude, I should be able to, because this is America and I'm an American, and this is a free country. What's next, will we outlaw pulling that thing off the bride's thigh at weddings, so people don't have to explain it to their kids? Will it be illegal to marry a chick with a strong jawline or small breasts, because they might be perceived as "mannish"? This country is going to hell in a hand basket with fucking Obama and those bastard Democrats trying to control our lives. Just remember this: Weddings don't make gays gay, gays make gays gay. Also, if gay weddings are outlawed, only gay outlaws will have gay weddings.

I agree 97%. I am tired of those big government liberals over burdening us with laws and regulations and controlling our lives. Now they want to say who I can and cannot marry. Dastardly. The part I disagree with partially is your second to last line. I think an exceptionally fabuolous wedding can turn people gay in some situations.

Yeah that's good but one sided. He should have atleast shown the other side of the argument too, like how my life is altered if the two guys living together up the street are allowed to get married.
