If we get Alex Gibbs type production I will be giddy .

I would be too. I'm just saying that type of personality is not for everyone. There will be some players out there that would be very much turned off by a guy like Kyle Shanahan.

And honestly I just keep thinking that Shanahan Sr. had his best years as a coach when he had Coordinators that did well relating to players. Shanahan could be the hard nosed guy and Kubiak could be the Players' Coach that knew how better to talk to them.

Really more so than who we hire for the Head Coaching job I am interested in who they bring in as the rest of the coaching staff.

I think best case scenario is the new coach keeps Wade and brings back Mike McCoy. I have a feeling Joseph will do that but Shanahan I'm not so sure.

And that very well could be the difference. Like I said the staff they bring in could be one of the biggest talking points of the meetings. Shanahan has been known in the past to hire friends that were not exactly qualified for the job they do. He has done a much better job with his offensive staff in Atlanta so maybe he has done a course correction on some of that but just have to wait and see.

I don't care besides I'm not the one choosing either. Anyways the turnover in HC's now is 2 or 3 yrs if choice doesn't workout we'll be doing it again.

I think he would rather stay in Denver but say a team offers him $4 million a year to come coach defense and Broncos are only offering him $2 million a year...Well Washington or whoever starts looking much nicer.

Also consider Wade's age - for such an offering - if he is worth that much - how long is he going to be around? Also - will Wade want to do a rebuild -when he has the Bronco defensive nucleus?

Yeah definitely a lot weighs into the decision. I'm just saying another team could make him an offer that would be tough to pass up even though he does like it here in Denver. I don't like the fact that Elway is playing hard ball with him. If he was being honest about wanting the defense not to take a step back then part of that is keeping Wade around.

I'm not sure John Elway is playing hard ball with him. If you are referring to not resigning Wade prior to finding a HC - I would think that is the protocol.

Washington just cleared house on the defense.
Denver may be in a bidding war for Wade which Denver will most likely lose.

Has a son Wes TE coach for the Redskisn. Did you see how teared (sp?) up Kubiak got when he said he was able to see two of his three kids everyday. Money probably is still #1 but coaching with you son has value that no one can put a price tag on except the person involved.

It would be a damn tragedy if we let Wade go. We have a lot of personalities, some of them volatile, and Wade has done a tremendous job of keeping these in check and the defense responded

I would be sincerely pissed if we let Wade go. He was our only constant on this coaching staff.

Why not hire Kyle , keep Wade and have the next DC in Joe Woods waiting in the wings.

Just wrote an article on Teryl Austin. I love that guy. He reminds me a lot of Mike Zimmer for the Vikings. He will tell it like it is. Which is part of why no team has hired him yet. Took Zimmer a long time too because of that personality type. His players though respond very well to it. They love him and would go through a brick wall for him.

Just not in my top 3. I don't think he brings in the staff required to have a complete team.... I'd rather go defensive minded, get a high profile O cord. Get a decent D guy with Joseph calling the shots on D for the most part.
