Just not in my top 3. I don't think he brings in the staff required to have a complete team.... I'd rather go defensive minded, get a high profile O cord. Get a decent D guy with Joseph calling the shots on D for the most part.

Can't disagree with that. One of the big knocks against Shanahan is that in the past he has hired friends more so than qualified coaches to be on his staff. Part of that has lead to the questioning of whether he just wants a bunch of "yes" men around him. I have liked the staff though that he put together in Atlanta. Love the OL coach they have and if Shanahan does get hired here that should be the first guy he calls to follow him to the Broncos.

Joseph isn't in the same stratosphere as Wade Phillips as far as being able to run a D

He doesn't have the experience Phillips does, there is no arguing that. It will be hard to replace a vet accomplished like Phillips, but Joseph is headed in the right direction and a very bright young football mind. I am confident in his ability, and Elway believes in him. We know that as he wanted to hire Joseph before Phillips previous to the Bengals blocking it.

Exactly why I don't dig little Shanny right now.

Understandable. It does sound like Elway though wants to be a part of assembling the coaching staff. Part of why he wants to hire a young guy is so that Elway has a bit more say in roster decisions and coaching decisions.

Wade is 69 years old - having Vance Joseph come in a learn from Wade - while bringing some energy to the team - provides long term continuity for the Defense.

It certainly is interesting that JE has a young coach - a middle aged coach - and a more experienced coach to interview. He doesn't seem to have a type in mind (assuming like I do that he hasn't already made up is mind).

That would be ideal but doesn't sound like what Wade wants to do. Gotta think of Wade too. In our ideal world that would be awesome.

Sounds like Little Shanny has grown a bit between Washington and Atlanta. I certainly wouldn't mind pairing his offense from the Falcons with our current defense.

Joseph and Toub sound promising too. But Joseph would need to have a very good eye for OC's.

And that is why I would be pretty much bummed if Kyle is not the coach .

Wade goes I will be despondent . I was so f'n pissed we fired him the first time . He should of went back to DC .

Shanahan would of won how many SB's with Wade as our DC ?

No more than he did, because his coaching staff had little say in personnel decisions.

I am surprised nobody has brought up Rex Ryan as a D cord.

I go back and forth on that one. He is a proven DC. The Bills players didn't seem to like him though which shocked me a bit. Said his scheme was just too complicated at times and lead to a lot of confusion on the field.

Wade Phillips to Raiders rumors . I would be surprised as Del Rio wants to much control of the D. Just doesn't make sense to me... Browns are also another rumored team. Wade you're too old for that.

Dave Toub drafted Hester and Hill. Has that touch for finding returners.

Just saying.... Gotta talk about it.

I am not sure I would consider Devin Hester and Tyreek Hill "finding" they were well known college players coming out.

That being said I never get why we don't go after playmakers like KC does. I mean they have failed on many taking them early too, but hit on a good amount.

Javier Arenas, Dexter McCluster, De'Anthony Thomas not exactly what some may thought they would be as return men coming out. McCluster had a few moments.

To think of all the good return man dating back to Tamarick Vanover and Dante Hall that KC has had and the only good one we had inbetween that couldn't keep the football in his hands (Holliday)
