already covered, read on.Is that what is keeping Bonds and Clemens out of the Hall?
i didnt say that.Okay then. Looks like none of them are getting in.
I don't think being a DH should disqualify you from the HOF, but it obviously makes a player less valuable, which should be taken into account when determining whether or not they are HOF worthy.
I would have voted for Edgar right away. He really had 7 prime seasons as a DH (1995-2001) where he averaged 5.8 WAR per season. Ortiz has 1 season above that (2007, 6.4). He also averaged a 164 OPS+, and Ortiz has 1 season above that in his career.some of Edgar's best years actually came at 3B. He had nine seasons of 5+ fWAR, three of which came at 3rd (90-92). even with the DH penalty, WAR likes him.
Post Season alone should get him in... But I don't think he gets in based on the "suspected" steroid use. Plus to me I also want a player to play a position...
I thought I did... Failed tests won't be needed to keep suspected juicers out. The voters have been pretty clear about that. No HOF for Papi.
The fact that he only played half a position and had to cheat to be good at it should be enough to keep him out.
All comes down to how voters view steroid users
Mike Piazza never failed a test, was never on a list, etc....Possibly the best offensive catcher in history, and he isn't in because voters think he is "suspect"
yeah well his minor league teammates had a lot to say about him lol
what MLBPA sanctioned failed test?"hearsay is more compelling than actual failed test"
what MLBPA sanctioned failed test?
"publics psyche"Doesn't matter. It was a failed test, and it made it into the public's psyche.
