I can already tell you hate James so you're helps biased when it comes to this debate. I bet you'd take James over the Brow any day of the week!

As much as you hate James... You'd want him over Anthony Davis on your team, just like any smart fan would.

I promise you he would not.
CL has never, ever, back tracked on NOT wanting James on his team.

When James wins without Wade, Allen, Bosh, Riley, or the Heat...let us know.

I get your point CL. Davis is 21 (22 next month)... which blows my mind considering how good he is. I would take Davis if we're talking about my team's future prospects..say 5 or 6 years out. But if we are talking about this season or next.. LeBron.

in all honesty, i'd take Davis or Durant before i'd take LeBron. just sayin'...

good post though, Flauge...

the way it's looking right now i'd have to say he won't win another ring THIS season either, but you never know i suppose. they say anything can happen...

then(like Flauge touched on) there's this thing called window of opportunity. or does anyone think LeBron's so "superhuman" that his skills won't decline at 30+...?

getting back on point though, i CAN see why Heat fans would be a bit excited at Whiteside's play. if his trend continues upward i truly can't blame 'em...

Seems like he's come back to earth a little (except for the rebounding), but he's still a pretty big upgrade and he'll likely learn more post moves to improve his scoring. I think you guys really got a good one.

I mean I expected his scoring to drop....As long as his rebounding don't drop I'm fine with him. He's going to get 10-14 points nightly now playing with 2 playmakers in Dragic & Wade.

Yep and give him an off-season to work on his offense, though and Wade and Bosh should have to do a lot less of the heavy lifting next year.

Whiteside rebounding numbers since returning from his injury against OKC

14,16,9,14,9,20,10,9,24,16, & 13.

Those rebounding numbers are outstanding

Unreal. Either this guy really did flip some sort of swtich... or the NBA GM's should be embarrassed for all passing him so many times.

Question for Heat fans because I'm not familiar with your cap situation:

Dragic is going to be a UFA this off-season and if I understand Whiteside's situation correctly, you have him on the cheap for one more season. If he keeps playing like he has, he's going to get a massive raise in 2016.

Do you max Dragic this year and hope that the cap goes up enough in 2016 that you can pay Whiteside enough to keep him? Or do you offer Dragic a less than max and risk getting outbid?

One in the hand is worth two in the bush. You resign Dragic. Worry about 2016 in 2016. Wade/Haslem/Chalmers contract up.. plus a few more. The Heat have 2016 set up like they did 2010 and 2014. The space will be there, the question is how much can you build around it once he signs.. and no one will know until the 2016 cap is known.

Thanks. Wasn't sure of the cap situation in Miami. Sounds like you should be able to keep both.

So Whiteside is under control for next year too then? Team option right? What a steal.

Like Flauge said worry about 2016 in 2016. For now, you have a bargain season at the center position. Cap space rises in 2016 as well so they should be able to retain him even if he continues to play well and his price tags rises.

Haven't watched gobert much but gotta think Whiteside is the better rebounder & shot blocker. I don't think there's a better rebounder in the league except Jordan
