Guys we need to re-sign short term (for next year):

1. Boldin

Guys we need to extend long term:

1. Kap
2. Aldon Smith
3. Iupati

I am fine with everyone else walking this year or next year. That includes Crabtree, Whitner, Tarrell Brown, etc.

The Crabtree situation will work itself out. I'm very excited about the WR talent in the draft. I'm assuming that we will get at least 2 guys and between Patton, Baldwin, and the others we may not even need Crabtree. Iupati needs to be re-signed IMO. Hopefully Kilgore can step up and give us the opportunity to keep Iupati.

I think we could keep all of them Boldin, Kap, Aldon, Iupati, Crabtree, Whitner and Brown. If we do the deals right with signing bonuses I feel we can keep Crabtree, Aldon, Kap and Iupati going into the 2015 season. I think Iupati will be worth about 7-8 million a year and we can do that 5 year option on Aldon.

Here's my list:

1. Aldon - most important piece on the team (behind Harbaugh)
2. Iupati - Keep the OL dominant
3. Glenn Dorsey - Has the makings of a great NT. Lock it up before he gets a full season under his belt.
4. Culliver
5. ...Since he's not going to be traded.... you know who.
6. Boldin. 1 year.

Let walk:

1. Whitner. Please let him nowhere near the 49ers ever again.
2. Tarrell Brown
3. Cut Carlos Rogers
4. Goodwin. See Whitner.

We don't have to worry about Aldon for two more years. He has a team option that will most likely be activated which will add another year to his current deal.

Oh yeah. I forgot about that.

I think its quite possible that Mike Iupati could be the next Dashon Goldson...

How bad is he? Is he someone that you'd want on the Cardinals or Rams because it'd be easier to face than someone they have or could get? Or is he good enough, just not for us?

Not sure if its just me but I like Iupati more than Anthony Davis. I think Iupati is a better guard than Davis is a tackle. I would of rather had them resign Iupati and not Davis.

Hell yes! I would love to see him on the Cardinals or Rams. He's just bad in coverage. Coverage is sort of important when you're a DB.

Wanna see Moncrief burning him for a deep TD. :D

I agree with every word of this.

I'd rather trade Davis to sign Iupati then let Iupati walk.

Potentially three. Under the new CBA, he has another year on his contract, we could keep him in 2015 at the transition tag level, and then in 2016 at the franchise tag level.

In general I agree with this. But it also seems like Iupati's stock has fallen this last season with incosistant play and of course his injury problems. While Davis has his stock rising, while he has improved and has been some what consistant as of late...

Tackle is also a more premium position than Guard. I'm not saying that should be the deciding factor, but it does add value to any decision...

Phil Dawson

Totally forgot about Phil Dawson. He's in my Boldin category.

I think Crabtree is replaceable. I wouldn't pay him the money he wants.
I'd rather draft one of Benjamin, Evans, Moncrief or Cooks, and I'd take a flyer on Britt.

My top players would be Boldin ,Dawson, Iupati and maybe an extension for Kap. The draft is deep with WRs and S,DBs. I say let Hitner walk at this moment and Crabs can play out his contract...if he doesn't get hurt yet again.

Agree, but Crabtree is really starting to grow on me. He shows a toughness and determination that I did not think he had his first couple of seasons.
