It's not a shocker since we didn't see him much in the NFC title game and some in the Super Bowl,
but this sounds like it's really bad. Sucks I love watching this kid play the game.

I'm far from shocked. It seemed obvious to me, but a couple of Rams fans posting here were in denial.....

And please, please, please do not let this happen to Jaylon Smith.

I didn't think it was this bad, I just figured it was the usual RB banged up at the end of the season.

To get basically zero work load in their 2 biggest games of the season was telling.

Especially after he ran roughshod over the cupcake Cowboys.......

Yeah I guess they shot him up for that game, I guess actually winning one playoff game was the end goal

No surprise, something was up with him getting limited carries in the Super Bowl game. "CJ Anderson was running well!" Oh fuck off McVay.

Either way, time and again RBs prove they're just not worth the massive contract in most instances. The Rams would incur ~$10M in either 2020/21 (this year is not an option, would be $20M+ in dead cap) to release Gurley in terms of cap alone, so if he's not going to be the same it's clearly a terrible 'Captain Hindsight' signing.

I'm fine with drafting RBs in the 1st, but let em' go when you're done after their rookie year. It's partly the reason I was HEAVILY annoyed Seattle drafted Penny and then barely fuckin' used the guy. I don't look at it as: "Oh he has less wear on his body!" I look at it as a 4 year contract MAX that you want to maximize the use of for the entirety before you let the fucker walk.

I also don't really get the love for Gurley. K, some 1,200/1,300 yard seasons.. decent TDs.. behind a VERY solid OLINE (outside of the Super Bowl)... like.. okay? Shaun Alexander 2.0? Really don't understand the love for this guy. He runs well, behind a top 5 OL... and a team that has receiver threats (prior to injury). Guy is a great receiver though + the combo of running, I'll give him that.

To bad to see this. Still as others have said something was up when he didn't play much in the Super Bowl.

Just another reason why you don't give RB's huge contracts.

Most RB's have a shelf life of 6 years.

Maybe you can get two good knees if you merge Gurley and Wentz together.
