Source is the Herald, so grain of salt, but supposedly Gronk needs a fourth surgery, and if they find any lingering infection, he may then need a fifth.
The fourth surgery will likely push his availability back into the regular season. If there's continuing infection, that may be it for Gronkowski - he's getting into the territory where simply retaining use of his arm is up in the air, where it's a career-threatening injury and where amputation may start to be looming on the horizon if it continues.
