Source is the Herald, so grain of salt, but supposedly Gronk needs a fourth surgery, and if they find any lingering infection, he may then need a fifth.

The fourth surgery will likely push his availability back into the regular season. If there's continuing infection, that may be it for Gronkowski - he's getting into the territory where simply retaining use of his arm is up in the air, where it's a career-threatening injury and where amputation may start to be looming on the horizon if it continues.

A source tells the Boston Herald that Rob Gronkowski will indeed need a fourth operation on his forearm.
The fourth procedure will be to remove the plate that's securing the broken bone in Gronk's troublesome left forearm. If the following tests show that the infection has been completely flushed out, then a new plate will be put in and the recovery will begin. In that scenario, Gronk will almost certainly be ready for Week 1. The concern is that if there are still signs of the infection, he'll need a fifth surgery. In that case, the Herald says Gronkowski's "participation for the start of the season and perhaps beyond would be in jeopardy." May 8 - 10:24 AM

Brady had multiple infection cleanings as well.

I worry more about the health care system at this point than I do Gronk.
At this point. That will probably change if it starts looking like a fifth and the possibility of a sixth.

Right. IF he needs a 5th, that's seriously worrying. If there's no sign of infection at the 4th, he's fine.

Hopefully it can be dealt with and be a non-issue. He is huge to our offense.

Lloyd has a decent chance of being back if they need depth imo.

I didnt think he was a bad player.. i think we needed a compliment on the other side better suited for him.. Wes was and is a slot guy, they needed someone to help stretch the field they have that now i believe in the rooks..

he should not have gone fisting on bibi right after operation

but in all seriousness, I hate to play against him (Steelers fan) but I love watching him play otherwise. Once in a generation freak @ Position with the best possible QB to suit his game.

No to Lloyd please. Good hands, acrobatic catches... but afraid of any contact.
I'd rather have Stallworth for one game.
I'd rather have T.O. Bad hands, but he has never shied away from anything physical.

How bad are his burns? He had a bad ankle sprain, but it's not like he was every injury prone. A couple of hammies, but what speedster hasn't had a hammie issue?

Gaffney?

I want Lloyd back. Considering how long it takes most to fit in he had a great season.

Sounds like he's going to have a minor back surgery while he's out anyway for his arm.

Didn't he have back surgury in college?
Hmm...Now I'm getting worried. Not so much for 2013, but further on. I'm really starting to wonder about his longevity. He may want to give up the WWE impressions and focus on making as much production and money in the NFL while he can.
