Source what?

After arb, the dbacks sit at about $57 mil. They were expected to spend about $100 mil in 2016.

If after Greinke's deferred $$$, his aav comes in around $24 mil, that should leave at least $16+ mil left to pursue another SP.

I think some people are forgetting the dbacks new $1.5 bil tv deal kicks in this season.
I was asking for a source for how much they're planning on spending.

I personally loved Greinke for the duration of his time as a Dodger. I think his personality is hilarious and I love how much it contrasts with what we're used to from the top players of any sport.

Don't you dare disrespect Corbin like that! Ray, De la rosa & Anderson have all shown flashes too. Plus Bradley, Blair and Shipley all top 100 arms. I love this signing man. We're apparently after Leake still right now too.

I think we just became playoff contenders, and we aren't done yet. This is the move we've needed to make for some time now. Can't waste Goldy and Pollock's prime years, can you?

That's what davis mike was saying. If you spend that remaining 16m well, and get .500 production from the rest of your staff, this could be a historic deal. But with that much money riding on one guy, the margin for error goes way down. Anyone that doesn't produce, or a string of key injuries, and you guys are stuck with what you have.

It'll be interesting to see what that TV deal actually brings in on a consistent basis. That wiggle-room could make this a lot less risky.

New TV deal kicks in this year...

Funny Dodger fans talking about how much the dbacks are paying.

2015... Dodgers luxury tax bill will be $43.7 million

That is $14 Million less than the Dbacks paid for the total, just in (Dodger) luxury tax.

I had to dislike him because he was on LA, but was always fascinated by his quotes and antics. Looking forward to watching him both on the field and off it, haha.

I'm hoping we add Leake and trade for a back end reliever. We have lots of depth in the back end of the rotation plus in the infield at our disposal. I like our direction right now man, I think Greinke can pitch well later on in his career, he's built to last a while. Great command, and just an all around smart pitcher.

Yep, still have to put it together, but it looks great on paper. Best of luck to you guys. I guess my only question is, will all the DBack fans who are so ready to point out how classless he is, still be so willing now that he is in Sedona Red?

So I guess Zona fans no longer think Greinke is a 'bitch' and 'soft'? That's all I heard out of them after Carlos Quinton broke his collar bone, now he is God's gift to the Earth haha.

I stand by everything I've said about him. But now I drop it, he's on my team. Just like I hated Nash before he signed in PHX, now he's one of my fav athletes of all-time. Just how sports work man.

Hahaha, agree to disagree. I think he's classless, and said as much when he was on my team. I still think so and don't like it. I have no bad sportsmanship in my loyalty.

Fucking great pick up by AZ, though.

Isn't AZ like Florida and Texas where they don't have a state income tax? Probably played a big part in his decision if so, can't really blame him for all that free money.

It's a lot lower than California (which state isn't?), but it's not zero.

Rooting for laundry. In Arizona's case some pretty weird laundry.
