Will they let him in the arena to celebrate if they win?

My question is, as a Warriors fan in the Bay Area, where will Draymond be watching the game and CAN I JOIN HIM THERE?!

I'm not sure. I haven't dove into the details but I've seen some chatter where he's petitioning the NBA to watch the game in the arena since they could win. If the NBA doesn't let him do that, they are really fucked up. I've got a lot of respect for Adam Silver but he'll start losing it if he won't let Green at least be at the celebration.

The answer is no - He cannot be in the building when the game is played

Way to miss the point. If he's not there he will be somewhere watching the game. I would love to be there with him partying and watching and celebrating if they win. The dude was out clubbing in Oakland 1 day after the win last year until 3:00AM. I wanna be on that train.

I get it - but he is not allowed to be in the arena when the game is played. Suspension means he has to stay away.

Nope, still don't get it. Game time is 6:00 PST. Draymond will not be at the arena. But since he is a human being he will be somewhere on the planet. Probably in the Bay Area. Maybe at home but knowing Dray maybe at some very fun place watching and drinking and carousing. I want to be there with him.

Seems pretty stupid to be out in public and drinking after you just got suspended from a finals game but whatever. And if he does do that I seriously doubt it will be around any Joe six pack GS fans. Besides, he's probably going to be somewhere where he can join his teammates as fast as possible in the case of a GS win.

Since the penalty for showing up at the arena is just a fine, Draymond should show up behind Clevelands bench.

lol....something along those lines....although not that obvious.

If the penalty is just a fine, that is precisely what he should do. If the league chooses to fine him, no big deal. If they take it any further hey would be going out of their way and would risk making Green a martyr.

I am with Wild Turkey on his comments. Let the guy at least be near the arena, and if they win, let the dude in the locker room to celebrate. Adam needs to grow a pair

I saw a tweet that the NBA is working on the logistics so that Green can be part of the celebration if the Warriors win.

They never said he can't stay in a hotel 5 minutes away from the arena and as truegordon said they're working on something to allow him in the arena for the celebration if they win

It was barely even contact.

The whole thing was unnesseary, but you don't put a flagrant foul on a star player for that. Especially given how the whole thing started.

I get that Green was suspended for the accumulation and not this specific incident, but still. If that happened in the regular season, Green would not have been wrong to punch him in the face.

Are you saying to give separate players preferential treatment?

Also surprised to see people clamoring about stepping over someone when most of the NBA celebrates a more tech worthy step over, AI over Tyronn Lue (ironically) in the 2001 finals.

That's a dude who deserved a steel chair shot for that.

Just my 2 cents:

Draymond deserves the suspension. How the incident occurred is less of a concern than it actually happened. Draymond needs responsibility here too because he's put himself in a position to be suspended. If he didn't get so many techs or flagrants earlier he wouldn't be up for a suspension. Simple as that.

Just because a man stepped over you and you defend your manhood, two wrongs don't even each other out. He took a swipe, a non-basketball play and by rules should have been assessed the flagrant.

Now I also lost a ton of respect for Lebron. I always thought he got a bad rap but last game it was evident with the game out of hand he was trying to bait Draymond into that. He was successful. Lebron knew exactly what he was doing stepping over Green. You just don't do that. I hate Kobe, but he never would have pulled that shit. He would have taken the L and tried to get the next one.

my bet is after the game he went home and chuckled like a little kid after the NBA bought his BS...
