Actually, there is special information when the guy did the surgery himself and saw what was inside with his own eyes. He can disclose everything he saw to other doctors, but actually being the one to see it yourself is different. You can't explain to someone how it compared to the other 1,000 surgeries you did in terms specific enough for them to understand it as well as you did. No doctor is going to say in a public forum it WILL heal and get better. But, in a private room he may be a little less conservative with how he words his prognosis. Either way, even after now re-reading your post, it didn't appear that was really your point anyway so perhaps that is why everyone jumped on it.I think you missed my point and several people made my point for me here. The Dallas Cowboys would not have inside information. It either gets disclosed to all based on consent by the patient or it does not. In other words, no one has special Infromation. That was just spin. The point is he may never play in the NFL as the nerve may not get back to where it needs to get or he could be a dominating player.
High risk, high reward. Not sure the pick needed to be made so early and especially by a team coming off a 4-12 season with an older elite quarterback when there is no sensible backup.
I do totally agree with your "High risk, high reward" assessment and your point that he may never play in the NFL which is why I would not have picked him in that spot. The knee I think will get better. The nerve is a crap shoot, but personally I feel better about the odds (not much but a little) knowing that the doctor that saw and did everything gave an opinion rosy enough for Jerry to portray as he thinks it will be OK even if that was spin and wasn't exactly what he said. We all know Jerry will hear what he wants and then even more so often twist it to his advantage after the fact, but I have to believe there is at least some truth to the story here.
