Im telling you, next year is a better class. We hedge our bets with a trade down to pick up an extra first.
If geno tanks the team, we cash in those picks and trade up for one of the top QBs and play for a SB in 24 & 25
Guess there is always hope.

We should all have expected this to happen. Pete has 3 years left and he is hitching his wagon to geno and an improved run game and defense
Some of us did expect it. This was the most obvious Pete move that could happen.

Especially when both sides were having a love in for the past few weeks

Geno can't win us a Super Bowl. We need great talent around him. If, and it's a big if, they can have another draft like last year then we could have that level of talent

Good length for the team. I've stated $28 to 32 million a year range but was hoping for around $25 million.

This tops the Adams trade & pay deal as the biggest mistake EVER by Pete & John.

The Percy Harvin trade was by far the worst move by them. Malcolm McDowell is the 2nd worst.

I was holding out hope they would work something out for lower money but it's done now. We will find out I guess. The schedule is tougher next year and IF he does prove me wrong I will gladly eat my words!

Malcolm McDowell would easily be the worst signing in sports history.

A move up to #3 with the Cards could possibly net Shroud or a move down just a bit and draft Richardson and Levy could be available with pick 5 possibly. So I feel it was in their grasp to draft which ever QB they like.
You can move up any year, just depends what you want to give away.

Pretty sure the Bears will trade down and Young and Stroud will go 1-2. Indy will take Levis unless something prevents them.

You have to really buy into Richardson to make that mess worth it. I very much worry that he's a crazy stud with a good personality and attitude but doesn't actually have QB attributes like accuracy and processing. Somebody will roll the big dice on him, though.

Actually Richardson at #5 makes sense with the signing. Richardson is NOT going to be ready year one.

This deal is meh but it is what it is. They better not draft any QB till round 5 or 6 cause anything lower than that is a wasted pick. Draft heavy on D with a center with the first 4 picks.

QB? 5th or 6th round would be fine. QB isn't a need with Geno signing and the holes on the defense plus center.
A 3rd rounder isn't expected to start and we should try and groom someone. Not a requirement but I would be fine with it

Still a hard pass. Yes I get we need a QB to groom but in a heavy defensive draft class this wouldn't be the year to do it with Geno signed. If what @MrS is saying is true about next years class having better QBs than that would be the better route to go.

I've calmed down and realized I need to see the contract breakdown. The first announcements of the contract are normally wildly inflated. I see this as giving the Seahawks flexibility in the draft specifically round one, they can still draft a QB at the top of the draft, but if the draft falls wrong they can go defense if they wish. They could still move up or down. Need those contract details.

Next year is speculation. It might be. But you really have no idea. There are no Joe Burrows or Trevor Lawrences in that class as far as I know.

The Heisman winner from USC looks pretty damn good
