Yeah but his CPOE was the best in the league. That's really what I meant to refer to.

Ok, yeah. I attribute that to the quality of his receivers. It's a pretty big lead, too.

I was honestly a little surprised his aggression % was as low as it was. He truly forced it to Metcalf at times, but obviously not as often as it seemed at times.

I don't think we can attribute that entirely to the receivers.

Well, absolutely nothing can be attributed entirely to anything and if we are required to take that tact we might as well start stating what percentages were the benefit of good weather, what percentage of it was bad defense, what percentage was dumb luck. My statement is not meant to remove any other factor, but to credit what I find as the biggest factor.

Wilson lasted until round 3 because he was so short. Seahawks were openly mocked for the pick as the media considered it a total waste of a pick because of his height.

Here's what The Athletic scouting report on Levis:

Levis, a transfer from Penn State, showed off improved mechanics and the ability to operate in a pro-style offense in his first year starting at Kentucky. Offensive coordinator Liam Coen, now in the same role with the Rams, utilized a large swath of concepts that had Levis operate from under center, including traditional play-action looks that asked Levis to turn his back to the defense before pushing the ball downfield.

Levis has a very quick and easy motion, and the ball absolute flies off of his hand. He can drive the ball on intermediate throws and shows some comfort operating on deeper dropback concepts on third down. His decision making and ability to progress through reads improved throughout the 2021 season as he started to better understand the timing on these plays.

Levis is much further along than Richardson IMO.
Andy Reid wanted RW in the second but went a different direction figuring RW would drop to them in the 3rd.

No to Richardson and no to Levis.

I read somewhere that Geno really wanted to continue working with Dave Canales and he was rumored to be leaving to be the OC in Tampa Bay. If he were to leave in that Geno would probably follow him there if everything lined up. It looks like Canales is taking the OC job there so we will see how this plays out.

Are you suggesting that any QB that were to play for Seattle would see a similar bump in their CPOE?

No single stat is definitive. Which was why I was pushing back on Screamin and his singular focus on that TWP stat. And stats don't tell the whole story, even when you put them all together.

But I do think that if you look at all of the stats you see that Geno performed pretty well, but he also had some pretty clear flaws.

He won't be getting paid then.....because the Bucs salary cap situation is completely fucked up.

Even if Geno wants to go there, Tampa has to want him. Maybe they feel the same way as the anti-Geno crowd here and don't think he's worth anything beyond the likes of Jameis Winston or Baker Mayfield.

They are like 50 mill over the cap. They'd have to release a lot.
Yes they may or the Hawks could tag and trade to the Buccs... Then they could work on a long term deal... They would probably cut LT, D. Smith and L. Fournett, which would create around 25 million more in space... They'd probably need to release a few more... I doubt it will happen though... Tampa is pretty much in a rebuild type of a mode...

Yeah, it's why Carr is also unlikely to go to Tampa.

Yeah. I think the Bucs are in rebuild mode. Moving mountains to bring in Geno doesn't make a lot of sense.

Which is why they could look at Drew Lock as an option..

True, no stat is definitive, but it becomes absolutely derivative if everyone has to place a caveat before every single opinion that their following statement is not definitive and other factors may have taken a part. I, in essence, agree with your statement about Lockett and you have to point out that I didn't quantify it enough to show that there could also be other factors as I just didn't want to go through everything that could possibly account for a change in completion percentage. I can only assume this is because in your current state you see coming in too strong for the WRs means that Smith is somehow limited and that equals a criticism of Smith.

As to your second paragraph, you appear to push back because the interpretation chosen does not support your stance. I haven't seen a single post pushing back at Geno's completion percentage as proof of his accuracy. Hell, the stat we're even talking about right now was highlighted by you to give props to one of the receivers. So, pray tell - why would Geno's actual completion percentage be 4.4 points higher than his expected completion percentage if not for the quality of his receiving group cause Geno's accuracy is already accounted for in his expect %.

Russell Wilson was consistently between 4 & 5% from 2016 - 2020, yet he was -4 in 2022. How much of that swing is the drop off in the quality of targets in Denver compared to what he left in Seattle? Would it be too strong to suggest that this is an indicator that Russ left a better receiver group in Seattle?

That last sentence is what this appears to be about. Yes, Geno had flaws, but no one can even be seen to point them out - even if that's just by complementing the WRs. Overall, Geno had an amazing season compared to how he was expected to perform - but all things considered his season was above average.

Speaking of RW…. Imagine that…
It's more than his play that Sean Payton needs to get under control. If he can get Hollywood Russ to check his ego maybe he can return to some form of when he played with the Hawks.
