Sharks captain Joe Thornton said he would only know in hindsight if Sunday’s surprise practice was the tonic for whatever currently ails the Sharks, who are 1-3 in their last four games and were thumped 5-3 by Florida Saturday.
“If we win 10 in a row, then I can say yes,” he said.
But Thornton added that effort has not been an issue for the Sharks.
“The work ethic is there,” he said. “We just need to work a little smarter. Our team always works really hard. But sometimes we don’t work smart and use our heads. We over-think easy plays and make things difficult on ourselves. That last game was more between the ears than anything else.”
