Kinda surprised at some guys that have not signed yet: Franson, Stewart, Semin and Oduya come to mind.

There should be interest in signing them, maybe they and their agents have an overinflated view of the market.

Franson - Too slow
Stewart - Too inconsistent
Semin - Too expensive
Oduya - Too old

Whew. Thank God this is *after* Saad agreed to his deal.

Stewart - Too inconsistent
Semin - Too expensive
Oduya - Too old

I would make some kind of comment in agreement with this, however I just know that if I did, the hockey Gods would slap me with a Jarmo press conference announcing his signing.

So I am not going to say anything.

If I'm Pittsburgh I'm throwing a 1 year deal at Semin. How many more years will you get out of Crosby and Malkin? Crosby's concussion issues and Malkin's body breaking down by the day, they should be all in on winning in the next year or 2. A move like this would be low risk, high reward and you don't have to give up any assets.

Doubt it had much effect one way or the other. Talking about two very different players.

I too think that would be a really good move.

Think of the jokes we could make about Pix liking Semin too.

(I'll just be sitting in the corner now)

Do you think the two are comparable? I don't

Edit: I see now that BBB made the same point, so don't feel like you should respond to both  Sorry

Even if it goes badly you can just unload Semin on someone else at the deadline anyway

A 23 year old with 131 career points vs a 22 year old with 126 career points AND two cups?

I could see discussions getting... tense.

Style of play, indeed the very concept of logic, doesn't usually apply when agents get involved.

As soon as somebody ruptures a tendon playing floorball or slips in the shower, the agents for these guys will start receiving phone calls.

Eloco wasn't shy about how much he enjoyed seeing Semin on the ice.

I'm always uncomfortable when guys are battling in the corner and Semin ends up getting smeared all over the glass

As I read this, I kept waiting for the Semin reference.....

lol - sorry, I kind of trailed off there - As soon as somebody ruptures a tendon playing floorball or slips in the shower, some GM will prematurely blow a load.

Mirtle in the cesspool says Franson was asking for 6 years and 6 million per season. No wonder he's still looking for work.
