I wouldnt want thibs around a bunch of my young developing players

That's my biggest concern with Thibs. He reminds me of Phil in his disdain for rookies and young guys. It almost seems like if the Lakers want Thibs, they should let someone else coach up the young guys for 2-3 years and then bring in Thibs to finish the job. Or, as you suggested, bring him in as a "defensive coordinator."

Thibs was better. Team defense was what the Bulls were all about with Thibs. Just had to get Jimmy and Rose on the same page and I guess it's going to take this talented group of ballers to miss the playoffs to understand what TEAM bball is.

maybe

The problem with Thibs is he actually coaches and pushes his players hard to become better. Not many NBA players these days have that mentality.

OD this might be the best post I've seen from you since... Since Oregon beat FSU? :noidea:

God forbid we ask these bball players to hustle, play hard, and get after on it D. Oh the nerve of Thibs. Not to mention it's guys like Lebron and Carmelo that have the power over coaches and blame the coach because the team isn't performing to their expectations..

Hell Thibs had Cleveland down 2-1 last year in the playoffs and took the Cavs to 6 games right? What's so bad about getting beat by a good team?

Reinsdorf :tsk:
Hoiberg :L

FYI

On March 28, 1990, Michael Jordan dropped 69 points and brought down a regular-season career-high 18 rebounds in the Bulls' OT win vs. the Cavaliers.

He will be back next year. fromt office has given a pass because they knew they didnt have the players to run his offense. next year will tell us. im pissed as a fan but lets see how next year does. He had to deal with the most injuries this year. tough for a 1st year guy.

There is some truth to this, but in this business and in this generation, you can't be stuck in your ways like Thibs was with the Bulls.

FWIW, he isn't. He's been visiting several other teams this season and learning from other coaches on what he can improve on.

This team was falling apart in the second half of last season. I don't know what u do as a coach to get players who don't like each other to play for one another. Gasol is s complete hack on defense. Rose is a puss who shows up 40% of the time. Besides butler and Gibson, the entire team can go

Yeah, Pau is a good system defender, but he's never been a guy who is going to shut anyone down or play great on the ball defense.

With Thibs defense, they could hide his deficiencies, Hoibergs defense doesn't look like it does that.
