Pick any p5 OOC schedule froma P5 school. If UCF had played that schedule, lose one game, and go undefeated in conference, they still would not have made the playoff.

Why are you using a p5 Ooc schedule for your argument? Obviously UCF needs to have a tougher OOC schedule to overcome the weaker conference schedule...

What would be the difference. They pussied up these two years just like they are pussying up the next 5 or 6.

I don't think you realize how difficult it is to schedule P5 teams. here at UTEP we can usually only get one per season.

How do you know they wouldn't have a shot? No G5 has gone undefeated with the rugged schedule I suggested.

When it happens, the argument will be " Yeah they played a tough OOC schedule but they play in a weak conference so they don't deserve a shot"

When are you guys going to get it. There is always going to be a reason why they won't let a G5 into the playoff. You're drinking the cool aid.

It's not any harder to schedule a good P5 team than it is to schedule a shitty one. UCF seems to be managing to schedule the shitty ones just fine.

Because the argument is that if UCF would just play a tougher schedule maybe they would get into the playoff but it's a bull shit argument.

I proved that by asking someone, anyone to provide a 2018 OOC schedule that would have given them a shot at the playoff. No one could do it.

Except that will never happen because UCF believes they are more valuable than they actually are. They are not negotiating from a position of power. UCF needs the big name teams more than they need UCF. Which is why UCF is demanding a home and home. They get to keep their weak ass schedule and keep pretending they are being black balled when it’s them shooting themselves in the foot.

We are going to have to agree to disagree. If a G5 is constantly having to do a two for one deal, that gives them less options in the future and less home games to make their own money.

As I said before. That may be the case moving forward but now I'm just speaking in general. No G5 can have a OOC goo enough for them to make it into a 4 team playoff.

Yes they can. You just want to give out participation trophies for teams that intentionally schedule garbage so that they can inflate their record. Baylor was left out of the playoffs for doing the same thing. UCF is not special.

More excuses. UCF has 4 OOC games. There is a reason for that. Even if they did a pair of 2 for 1 deals that ran over the same 3 year span, they would have 2 other games to schedule whoever they wanted at home in the two years and they would have 2 home games in the other year. UCF literally has enough flexibility to do whatever they want...and they choose to pretend that no one will play them and North Carolina is the best they can do. Even in 2020, two years out, they already have 5 home games and 2 slots left on their schedule. Even in the SEC there are teams with open 2020 dates. They need to get it done of quit bitching.

Then force the committee to say that.

Not even trying makes it way too easy to discount UCF

Its not about what other teams OOC is, its about what UCF needs.

OOC against Florida, Alabama and Michigan likely gets UCF in the playoffs this year, and certainly would just about every other year.

UCF can get 6 home games a year even by taking 3 2 for 1 games a year.

Sure they can, but none of them do (this year)
